My local shop never got any of the rings either, so I got them all at a shop about 40 miles away. That store had a quantity of rings for all the books through the entire promotion.

I bought all the books to get the rings, and of them all. I only really enjoyed Booster Gold (which I buy normally anyway) and The Outsiders (which did intrigue me enough to at least look at future issues seeing as it appears most of the original team is back and the not-Teen Titans members are gone- still not happy with the new Metamorpho tattoo face look, but the Creeper looked interesting here....but is he a Bwa-ha-ha type or more Ditko-y? And is Looker around still? Wow, what a tangent I rambled into....)

I guess it would have been cheaper to buy the set like Toyroom did...anyone think it'll probably be cheaper down the road after the event ends or do you think it will be harder to get? I'm thinking there will be a bunch of sets available...the actual BK books may hold value for a bit but overstock tie-ins from these lesser titles will be lining the discount boxes minus the rings which retailers will sell as sets. I say this knowing how many issues of Final Crisis, Civil War & Secret Invasion back issues are in the $1.00 & $.50 cent boxes.

Gotta find a hand to display these...saw a really cool GREEN glass manniquin hand at an antique shop last week but it was like $80.00. Would have been excellent though in the display case!

^^^ There was some interesting Tie-in's so far that I enjoyed ... The last tie-in's that I read with a Story Arc were the Battle for the Cowl 1's... which I didn't like so much.

Doom Patrol to me was most definately the weakest book of all the Tie-ins ... I have not read the JLA OR the Titan's book yet....

The Superman/Batman book with Grundy, Bizarro and ManBat is very interesting ... I like the set up,.. and like the characters thrown together...

Outsider's was decent..., but that might also be because the writer is also writing Green Lantern Corps..., so he's got a hold on the whole Situation already ...

BoosterGold is always good,.. so Naturally this arc should be no different..

Adventure comics was neat..., to come back to Superboy Prime.., I love the character and after reading Legion of 3 worlds.., I was kinda happy to see him back in whatnot... he also in some ways seems to be one of the character's Johns keeps making sure you know he's out there ...

R.E.B.E.L.S. was the surprise hit for me..., I love SCI-FI... and with the Lanterns Battling all over the Galaxy,.. it's an added Bonus to me to be able to see a few more battles,.. rather than just Earth. I liked it so far.

Oh, yes, Adventure Comics was pretty good, love that Ordway art. Nice comic book shop stuff there.

And the Legion backup is also nice, now that the "real" Legion is back.

Do you think there will be a white ring, maybe with Blackest Night #8?

With my non-job siuation I've only been picking up books when I can. I did get BK#5 and loved it. My LCS is holding the rest of the tie-ins for me and I did get all the rings.

I talked with my LCS today and he said that they get a certian amount of rings per 50 comics they order. the green rings were supposed to be in this week but did not come in. I must have missed the black ring which came out in may with Blackest Night #0 ON FREE COMIC DAY

I missed the Black ring on Free Comic Day too. But luckily my LCS saved their extras for this ring event. I got all the rings for $8 without having to buy the extra comics. Which is very cool since funds are tight right now.

all comic books stores that order from diamond get a promo set of all rings (at least 1 set)... and, as someone else mentioned, depending on quantity of books you buy (it varies between 25 and 50 of a certain issue) you get a pack of rings to give away (or sell, I guess)...
I had 25 sets we gave away/are giving away to our comic subscribers...

I got a black ring at the Baltimore Comicon, and last night we picked up our comics and got the green and red rings. I don't get the crossover books and stuff, so I wasn't that worried about the other rings, although a yellow one would be nice. At least one of the books that you have to buy to get the rings(Booster Gold) is one that we recently cancelled. I liked it, but we had to cut back on our monthly titles.

Ya know, I'm sure I publically mocked this book when it was first announced ("Who needs it" kinda thing) but I picked up the Blackest Night tie-in and I must say I was pretty impressed with what I read. I didn't think these characters could be interesting again but I liked how the former L.E.G.I.O.N. members are bumping into Adam Strange, Captain Comet, The Vanguard (from an obscure New Teen Titans Annual), Kanjar Ro, Starro and the Sinestro Corps all int the course of one book.

^ Yeah I'm interested in seeing where that cliff-hanger takes us...

I hafta say that I think all of these Blackest Night tie-ins and mini-series have been pretty tight.....not a stinker in the bunch so far. I still remember the tie-ins and cross-overs to Crisis on Infinite Earths....some of them had nothing more than the obligatory red skies and that's it.....

I've been picking up Blackest Night, GL, and Green Lantern Corps throughout this event (actually, I had most of the Prelude stuff, too...Rage of the Red Lanterns, Agent Orange, Emerald Eclipse), but so far I have tossed everything into a pile for later because I can't stand having to wait for the next book to come out.

I figured I had enough built up to give me something to do over Christmas break, so I started in on the reading the pile I had built up. I burned through it very quickly, which prompted me to go to four different Comic Shops to fill in all of the holes I had missed. By the time I was finished, I had collected everything (except the first Outsiders book (#24, I think?) )that was out up to and including last Wednesday. Then, I started reading it all over with the missing Minis and Crossovers in place.

Since Sunday, I have read all of the Prelude stuff and everything up to the point the Crossovers started coming out, so I still have about 10 books to go to be caught up to what comes out today.

That is the long way of saying that I really love this story line and have bought into it hook-line-and-sinker.
