1978 DC Comics and Pizza Hut

The Pizza Hut editions were actually first made available on January 2, 1978. Each reprint issue is labeled Pizza Hut edition. The ads were replaced with DC Comics and Pizza Hut ads.

Those are really cool...but I always wondered why they picked such random issues, and not more important ones?

The 1978 Pizza Hut DC promotions also featured collectible placemats you could get in the restaurant. These were double sided with a pin up on one side and a comic strip origin on the other. I only have the Shazam! placemat and have been keeping an eye out for the others. There's Superman, Aquaman, and Flash that I know for sure, and possibly others.

I have seen these before but got sidetracked and had forgotten. I’ll have to check ebay for these Pizza Hut placemats, I definitely like this Shazam.
