    Fantastic Four First Steps

    20250724_083623.jpg
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world. [The film follows] Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus' plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren't bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

Hard to believe that they cut some villains from the movie but was nice to see the 1994 F4 show up in the movie.

Just finished watching F4 and this was a great film, better than they other 4.

I will write more later, there are 2 post- credit scenes.

Mid-credit scene takes place 4 years after the battle and leads into Avengers: Doomsday.

The after credit scene is the in-universe F4 cartoon and they show most of the mentioned villains in cartoon form. So you do not have to stay and watch this and can wait till it gets released for home viewing.

The movie was told in three parts.

Part 1 Introduce the MCU F4. This was a fun and unique way to "recap" the F4 past activities along with introducing villains without back stories.

Part 2 Introduce the new Silver Surfer and Galactus and battle.

Part 3 Battle with the final boss scene.

All in all I was giddy seeing a humanoid Galactus and the battle scene. Would I watch this back in the theater again, so long as I do not have to bring my nephew.

You need to see this on a big screen, and if you can afford it go to those extra big screens.

              .

Natasha Lyonne is NOT Madam Medusa!

BUT! She plays a great character which I think is based on Jack Kirby's wife: ROZ!

              (sorry Alicia!)

This film IS a Letter to Jacob Kurtzberg, and no disrespect to Stanley Martin Lieber. The film celebrates both of their work and influence they had in comic history. More so to Jack who you can tell by ALL the VISUALS in the film and how much this is a SILVER AGE film ( 1956-1970)

The furniture, the media (TV's that are NOT Flat screened; Record players) the Automobiles! The Clothing! Probably the food too! HAHAHAHA! AND I don't think I heard ANY FKN Swearing!!!

That alone makes this a great film!!!

The story takes place on Earth-828 (You will see...) But here is the thing is it the 1960's? Or 2025? Or another time period? Hm... No mention of the year.

And as Monty Ep says, it takes place FOUR years after their accident. They have a track record of crime-fighting and saving the world (or AT LEAST YANCY STREET!!)
We are introduced to the MOLE MAN and two other Villains who I won't name. Well I do mention one below (SORRY!) and it seems EVERYONE LOVES the FF! Not only do they save the world so many times, but they also SAVE THE WORLD!?!????

They establish a Foundation (Sounds familiar...) Thanks to Reed's genius they help promote a Nirvana on the planet with super-technology. Susan Storm Richards; uses her fame and celebrity to promote well being among the human race and others as an Ambassador.

Johnny is not so much a prick like he has been in the past two movies, here he seems most insecure compared to his comrades. But he comes through and in many ways he is the HERO of the day and story!!

Ben of course is the heart and soul of the FF (Sorry, that's how I feel!) He does not seem like the bitter ****ed type who looks at himself in the mirror and gets mad that he is not Cary Grant or Jerry Lewis! !! He accepts his appearance and lives with it and...

Everyone LOVES HIM! Especially Kids! Which has one of the best scenes in the film with him on... Where else, YANCY STREET! It is here he meets...

However It would have been nice if his voice was a bit deeper and if he was smoking a cigar! But I guess the filmmakers didn't want to promote lung-cancer on screen.

H*E*R*B*I*E* is not spelled that way according to the credits and he is just HERBIE. He is pretty much what you expect him, it would have been FUNNY if he and Ben were at ODDS with each other like in the cartoon and comics. Herbie serves a purpose and he is one of my favorite characters ever since I saw him back in 78. My worry was that they were gonna CORRUPT Herbie ala DR. SUN as they did the pages of the FF and had "Herbie" try to kill the FF, but no he came through with flying colours!!

I recommend getting the FRANKLIN & HERBIE comics that have come out over the years, funny as hell and only Franklin can put Herbie through his paces!!!

Yes, The "Silver Surfer" and GALACTUS show up and they are good, my only concern is the WORLD SHIP looks like Scheet!! What a dump of a space ship!!

Shalla-Bal, Yeah no mention of her Paramour...

The surfer served her purpose and that is all I am gonna say

I do wish that the RED GHOST Scene was not cut out, but their is always the dvd.

The highlight for me was when they return from Space and they OVATION they get is just so MOVING, but that ends quick.

And at the end of the movie it is FOUR years in the future.

              And...

I loved this and I think I am gonna go and see it again for a SECOND time, Sorry Mr. Gunn. I have always been a TIMELY/ATLAS/MARVEL guy and I have to support the home team, and that is no disrespect to James and what he has accomplished. I am a first day buyer for both DVDS!!

              Go check it out

              Cheers!!!

              Kirby is the KING!!!!

I think this looks wonderful. I won't be able to see it until home media, but I suspect it will sit beside Captain America: First Avenger and Ant-Man, which are to my taste to re-watch.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.
