From one of the VFX Supervisor on the set:
There were supposed to be several Yetis in the movie.
When Krypto was dragging Superman to the FOS they pass by several dead Abominable Snowmen and Superman tells Krypto "you've got to stop killing the Abominable Snowmen"
This explains the Yetis figures with pull apart limbs and bloody marks.

Had record breaking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Not amazing numbers or anything, but the best numbers in a long time. Hopefully good WOM keeps this with another blockbuster weeked this weekend.Leave a comment:

I saw it this afternoon. Gunn did a great job and was a fun theatre experience. I liked how it was bright and colorful. Forgot about sticking around though for the post credit scenes.9Leave a comment:

Watched to movie yesterday night with the wife, I enjoyed the movie very much. Nice new reboot with a short origin and lots of JL members involved for a new DCU.
My wife that does not follow my hobby but likes the Marvels ( up to phase 4) and the DC films, sz she prefers Henry in the role and liked the previous ones better ( She has no clue who Zack Snyder is ) . Said that the new Superman came across as a little stupid-dumb not only as Clark but as Superman as well.
I asked if she would see it again with me, No.
Taste is out there for every one, I will be seeing it again shortly.Leave a comment:

We went to see it Monday. It was the most fun I've had at the movies since the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Even my wife, who tolerates my nerdom and goes with me to most comic book movies (mainly for the popcorn) leaned over about halfway through and said "This is a really good movie"!Leave a comment:

Why are we stuck on Superman Robots with capes. The original Superbots looked just like Sups.
OIP (3) (25).jpg
Then as time came the Superbots were helping around the world where Supes could be everywhere.
OIP (3) (24).jpg
Then in All Stars they looked more like Terminator

They give Kal-El a since of being around Kryptonians.

I mean why does the dog wear a cape for that matter? Hell, why does Superman wear a cape? I mean, you could make a lot of arguments in a variety of ways but it's just a silly little comic thing. And frankly, I kind of find it funny that Superman just puts capes on everything. His robots, his dog, a potted plant in the corner. It's amusing.
I quite enjoyed the movie. I do wish there was a BIT more Superman. I appreciate they depowered him a bit, but I would have liked maybe 10-15 more minutes earlier to help set up his super heroics, but that's a minor complaint. All these superhero movies are like 3 and a half hours these days but it felt like this one should have been just a touch longer for that reason. I don't think he was able to develop as much as I'd like, but it wasn't completely absent.
The "twists" were unique enough and didn't make me groan or anything, but nothing entirely made me go crazy with excitement. It had some silly dumb moments, but that's true to the source material. I didn't think it went out of its way to do zany stuff just for the sake of it.
I'd still love a retro 1950s style Superman movie and maybe the success of FF will mean someone will do that eventually, but I generally trust James Gunn to do solid stuff.Leave a comment:

Yes, but does the story explain why they wear capes?
Does anyone else feel like Mr. Terrific was a bit of a Batman proxy?
Now that you mention it, yes, and maybe a bit of METRON, too. As he did that Chair sitting flight routine. The whole Billionaire masked crimefighter detective.
Jimmy Olsen has been the opposite of Clark Kent, he has been the ladies man. Basically he DC Comics version of Captain Kirk, Jimmy has dates every type of female.
Yeah, but to me he was always a GOOF. When I watch Superman on TV (50's) he is always just getting in trouble and a bit of a pest. Too big for his Britches! Ask Perry White or George Starr! I do remember one cover (Jimmy Olsen or Superman Family) where he was going into the future as Elastic Lad to join the Legion and he is bidding LUCY LANE good bye and she is Bawling for him to stay!
Good Ole Silver Age drama! Leave a comment:

I haven't seen the film yet, but the exact same thought about the Grant Morrison likeness occurred to me when I first saw the trailer!
Season 1 of Peacemaker hugely surprised me by being, in my personal opinion, phenomenal. I have never been a wrestling fan and knew nothing about John Cena. But I thought he was absolutely great in this role. It's a more complex and layered character than the Charlton version with which I was familiar. (I knew that DC had once published a Peacemaker mini series in the late 1980s-ish. But I never read that.) I liked the show so much that I DVR'd an episode when I saw that it was being re-run now on TBS. I still enjoyed it. But there have been a lot of edits for content and language. So if you have access to the original on streaming, my personal view is that the original is substantially better.
Regarding the dozen people in the cinema, my personal view is that there are three things impacting that: (1) very few movies these days make big money at the Box Office because so many people simply wait to see films much more cheaply, just a few weeks or months later, at home via PPV or streaming, and (2) super hero film fatigue generally, and (3) a very serious drag on the DC and Superman brand among the general public because the last several DC super hero films bombed and were critically panned. I have an 18-year-old daughter. I use her and her friends as a barometer of what films are breaking through with the younger audiences that Hollywood prefers. She saw Minecraft three times, with three different sets of friends. She hasn't said one word about the Superman film.
Hi Dan, I taped three episodes of Peacemaker and have yet to watch them, hopefully it will surprise me. Really want to just hear them talk about: Bat-Mite! Hahaha!
I have no idea what Minecraft is or Fortnite or most things that youngsters do. I also think the reason there were 12 people was it was a LASER Film, so you needed glasses. And I didn't pay for the ticket, a friend did and couldn't go and gave it to me and it was for 10:00AM Saturday morning and typical, I did not need to work that day, so I said; "Okay".
Maybe people were too hung over or partied out?
When I have time this week I will try to watch Peacemaker.Leave a comment:

Went and saw the movie on Sunday afternoon. I thought it was great! It's exactly what a super hero movie should be. As always, brought along a couple of friends to enjoy the experience!
