    Who's seeing Superman early?

My son and I are seeing it tonight (July 8) via the Amazon Prime member/Fandango screening. We chose an IMAX presentation. I usually don't go for those, but this one seems spectacle worthy. I'm really stoked for this. I hope I haven't let the hype get me too worked up.

I'll take "silly" over navel-gazing, somber and emo, which is what the Snyderverse gave us. Taking the material WAY too seriously and sucking the fun right out of it.

I wisely give my employees an early Friday every other week in the summer, so I'm going to an afternoon showing with the missus.

Although I am worried that the legion of Snyderbros will throw buckets of their tears at us when we go in.

I hope this movie breaks box office records and has an A plus cinema score just to shut those guys up. Nothing against folks who like the Snyder films and aren't toxic ******s, there are aspects of those films I did enjoy. But the legion of those very vocal Snyder Bros are insufferable and just need to finally disperse. It's over.

Nope. My wife wants to go and the first chance we'll get in next Tuesday when she has a day off. Weekends are filled with D&D, no time to get to a theatre.

Saw it and no spoilers of course, I loved it. I think this may be the most unabashedly comic book-y film made to date, and I mean that as a sincere compliment. Wonderful synthesis of nearly every comic and media iteration of Superman, but blended in a new and exciting way. My 23 year-old son loved it too, and we had a blast. We wanted more as we walked out, and I want to see it again this weekend. There's a few minor niggles I wasn't 100% happy with, but they are very, VERY minor. A homerun for sure. Best Superman film since Superman II, in my opinion.

I've been nervous about it but love seeing all the glowing reviews for it now.

Mark Waid gave it a big thumbs up, and coupled with an endorsement from Chris Franklin, my two favorite comic moguls are all the endorsement I need.

                      91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

And sadly it's been politicized, which frankly I hope works in its favor.

I appreciate you putting my name and Mark Waid's in the same sentence Steve, but I fear for your mental health. You'd better go lay down. ;-)

BF and I just got back from watching Superman and it was a great comic book movie. Before we went and saw the movie we list d to the prequel book Superman Welcome to Metropolis.

This audiobook sets up this universe and gets you ready for the movie.

The movie does introduce you to world of James Gunn's DC Universe with the "Justice Gang" showing up and Rick Flag Sr from Creature Commandoes. This was a fun filled movie.

Now yes it does have a story similar to what is going on in the World right now but changing it just enough so it doesn't take you out of the comic book world.

There is a mid- credit scene that was shown during the puppy bowl and an after credit scene that deals with the aftermath in a funny way.

Now that we are home we discovered on TCM they are showing the 1978 Superman movie so this will make a great comparison.

Even though I won't see this soon, I do NOT GET WHY some sites will POST the WHOLE Bloody movie in detail

                            for example

While most of Superman focuses on the Man of Steel and his journey, there's still time to tease the future of the DCU.

It's bloody stoopid and I don't know why the studios won't do anything about it.

Also gotta wonder why someone would post a link to such nonsense.
