As some of you know there is a book called: "Mark Gruenwald and the Star Spangled Symbolism of Captain America, 1985-1995"
This came out in 2022 and I got it back in April and it is a MF to READ as the writer; JAMES OLSEN, is a MONSTER Writer! I guess he has to be cause he is an English professor. That fkn book! It reads like it was done in the APA, MLA and CMS writing styles!!!!!!
I am still NOT DONE with it, cause I have to read a sentence. Stop, think about it and then go on, just to comprehend the material.
its this latest discovery that I find that PROFESSOR OLSEN is a huge Mark Gruenwald fan!! As he is now with the assistance of McFarland Publishing, coming out with a new book:
Mark Gruenwald's Quasar
I reached out to McFarland publishing And I got this back:
"Mark Gruenwald's Quasar has an expected due date of September 2025. This is only a projected due date not a guaranteed due date.
Hope this information is helpful. Thank you for your time."
Whether that is gonna happen, I will just have to wait and see.

That wasn't enough for me, I had to go to the fortress' of Solitude and dig out my collection of QUASAR and start rereading them. But I needed more!
So I took the initiative and reached out to Professor Olsen!! And no response,
But three weeks later, I got an email from him!
"Hello Jorge! Thank you so much for reaching out and I am thrilled to get to chat with people who love Mark Gruenwald's work as much as I do!
Quasar is my favorite project of Mark's and I'm so glad to work with McFarland on this passion project of mine. I have absolutely enjoyed dig deeply into these wonderful comics and discuss why they matter.
When I write comic scholarship for Gruenwald, I do focus on his depictions of society and the human condition and the joy of Quasar is that it provides plenty of opportunities to do so. Some of the grounded-to-earth chapters in the book deal with Wendell's bouts with depression, suicidal ideation, and his narcissistic father. As you know, the true joys of Quasar come from the limitless imagination that drives the stories and the absolutely weirdness of it all also I also have chapters about cosmic continuity and the Starblast saga.
I talk a lot about Eon, of course (especially in a chapter of mentors) and little about Epoch (who, I agree, is so interesting).I also get into the science and "science" of the series, something that really defines what made Quasar unique. Other chapters explore topics as wide-ranging as Quasar's moral decency (in an era of anti-heroes), atheism, depictions of women, his role as an Avenger, and much more.
It was a thrill to write the book and I'm glad to hear from you!

Well. That was nice of him to reply. I am looking forward to it, I just hope I get the Captain America book all read by then! My god it hurts to read that book! hope the Quasar book is not that difficult to read. I am also looking forward to reading what he has to say about Marvel Boy-Robert Grayson (the Uranian).
I hope this news tidbit is of some interest to the populace here.
