    Batman Forever The Schumacher Cut

After almost thirty years hidden away in the Batcave, Joel Schumacher’s original vision of Batman Forever is finally here, and it’s not the candy-colored blockbuster we remember.

I never hated Batman Forever. I felt it was not as good as the Burton movies. Kilmer was not as childlike innocence as Keaton had felt. Robin seemed really underwhelming. Harvey was a wasted character and I just don’t like Jim Carrey. Sometimes he can do a short scene and do it well but his longer scenes felt like bad universe versions Robin Williams. Not always terrible but rarely good. To me. My take. Batman and Robin was a paycheck only for everyone involved but Batman Forever wasn’t the worst.
Apparently the Schu Cut changes the feel of the movie. If it ever gets a public release I would watch it.

Thought it was really good when i saw it in the theater. Many years later, saw it again and wondered how i couldve liked it lol and that it aged poorly. Watched it again about 2 years ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. So kind of have a weird history with that movie...unlike Returns, which I didn't like then and still don't like it now lol.

I like Batman Forever despite it's flaws, but I'm looking forward to seeing this cut. I've always been intrigued by the missing footage.

Batman Forever is fine, a definite step down from the previous two with a lot more cheese and silliness thrown in. A longer cut may tone that down some, but a lot of the issues with the film involve things like Two Face and Riddler trying to one up each other in zaniness. This sounds like scenes are restored, but if the scenes that are already in there remain, there's still going to be a fair amount of groan worthy stuff.

That said, I would totally buy this if they release it on Blu-Ray because I love stuff like this and even if not perfect like Donner's Superman 2, it could be a fun look into an alternate world.
