Daredevil: Born Again

I have to say so far, this series is excellent. Feels like a direct continuation of the Netflix series with a bit of a different flavor to make things interesting and set it apart. There have been some shocking moments, but ultimately I think they'll serve the story well. They got me hooked again. I'm so glad they scrapped the earlier version they were shooting before the writers and actors strikes, that would have had very loose ties to the previous series, and been lighter.

A lot of people are saying "Marvel is back!" and really beating that drum. I will admit some of the Marvel stuff over the last few years post-Endgame hasn't been as good, but I have been entertained, aside from the horrid Secret Invasion, so I never jumped on the "I now hate Marvel" bandwagon. But I'm glad to see this is bringing people back around.

i watched the fist 2 episodes. it is def good, but it is a slow build. Looking forward to where they are going with it

So they're going heavy on the Jamie Sommers type super hearing for Matt with this new show, did they do that with the Netflix series? I watched it but don't remember details of shows I watched last week let alone 7 years ago..

I guess it's a more dramatic and cost-effective way to depict his powers if you're not going down the "radar sense" road..

Yeah, it seems they are relying on his hearing more than the radar sense. I noticed that too. An odd choice honestly, considering that they alude to other super powers, and super powered individuals in the show.

You're not wrong the Netflix show avoided any depiction of Matt's abilities. Possibly to distant itself from the film but I always felt that part was almost detrimental.

Yeah, I haven't seen the Netflix version, but it's a real disservice to the character and a lost opportunity for some great visuals.

Maybe it's an effects budget consideration?

I think it's to keep things in the gritty noir department, although they are definitely acknowledging the super-powered side of the MCU in this new series more. But it's still very "street". I don't like that for a lot of properties, but with DD, it works for me.
