Just picked this up this afternoon and barely had a chance to take a glimpse inside. Looking forward to taking a deep dive and digging in, but here's a peak of what's inside...

It's a reproduction edition. It was kickstarted, but I didn't back it. I did order it through my comic shop when it was up for preorder there. It was supposed to be out early Q4 of 2024, and those who backed the Kickstarter got theirs the end of last year, but my comic shop just got it from the distributor on Friday of last week. Weekend storms and a chest cold kept me form getting to the shop until today.

Thank you! I've scaled back on much of what I'd like to buy, but this is very tempting.

I still have my 1986 (?) Super Powers calendar, which is chock full of this JGL art.

Just so you don't get sticker shock, the MSRP on this was $95.

Worth it, I think, but it may be pricey for some tastes. I rarely splurge on big items like this any more, but I could pass this one up (and my subscribers discount at my lcs certainly helped).

I'd love to see the art from that calendar if you ever felt inclined to take pics and post it hereabouts.

I got mine back in early December and it is indeed a gorgeous book. There are a few pieces in there that I haven't seen used much, which is nice. Also some pieces are from later 80s iterations, featuring the later Super Powers characters, updated Supergirl with the headband, Luthor in his armor, etc.

                    That looks wonderful!

And it is so tempting! But I have so many unread books and unopened toys and collectibles, and with all the stuff I have collected over the years, besides needing to slow down dramatically, I cannot get it all and sacrifices must be made (like the Corgi Batmobile reissue). I am sure I will regret sometime in the future not getting it.

That's amazing and tempting. That whole period is my touchstone for a lot of core memories of enjoying DC Comics as a teen. As a guiding document from that time, it's importance is immense. Glad to see it's available. Thanks for showing us your copy!

Did Garcia Lopez do the artwork for that late 70s Corgi ad of the DC heroes running to their cars? Or was that Neal Adams?

I don't think it was Garcia Lopez on that ad. My guess is that Corgi Ad was done by Dick Giordano. The small figures of the heroes look like his work, and he had a penchant for drawing vehicles. He designed the 1978/80s Batmobile, for instance, and drew the Batmobile and Batplane entries in DC's Who's Who series.
