    RIP to Trina Robbins

RIP to legendary comic creator, historian, and tireless advocate for women in comics Trina Robbins who passed today at age 85. Among her many accomplishments was that she was the first woman to draw Wonder Woman in comics, a biographical GN of fellow creator Lily Renee, It Ain't Me Babe, Wimmin's Comix, Legend of Wonder Woman, The Great Woman Super-Heroes, From Girls to Grrrlz: A History of Comics from Teens to Zines, the Chicagoland Detective Agencyy series of YA GN and was co-founder of the Friends of Lulu.

My wife and I had the privilege and honor of meeting Trina at Gem City Comics Con in 2014, and Trina was effusive with her support and praise of my wife's creative endeavors. She was kind, fierce, and one of a kind and will be missed. A toast to her memory and to honor her legacy in comics and in this world.

This is Mrs MRP and Trina at the aforementioned Gem City Con with Trina holding a piece of my wife's fantasy art that she came and bought from us. We gifted her several other pieces as well, but that could not compare to the gift she gave to my wife with her kind words and unflagging support.

Such a rough year for female comics pioneers, first Ramona Fradon, and now Trina Robbins. My wife's favorite comic run of all time is Robbins' and Kurt Busiek's Legend of Wonder Woman mini-series.

Your wife's work looks great! And so validating to get praise from a legend like Robbins.

      And co creator of Vampirella.
Over the past few years I've written a fair bit about Frank Frazetta and some of the stories behind his work; today I thought I'd share a little more. Frank’s relationship with publisher James Warren began in 1964 and was both rewarding and, near its end, tempestuous—but in between he created som
