Ok new opinion discussion. Who was the best Jim Gordon? You can go back to the 1949 serial or the 66 series and movie or the Pat Hingle from the 80s and 90s movies. Gary Oldman from theNolan-verse, JK Simmons from the DCEU or Jeffrey Wright from the Pattinson movie. Really it’s wide open.

Really really didn’t like the Pat Hingle Gordon. I don’t like him in the role. Maybe better as Commissioner Loeb from Year One.
I liked Jeffrey Wright and JK Simmons and felt they did very well.
I think my favorite has to be Gary Oldman. Really brought out the best parts of Gordon as we saw him in Year One and later on in TDKR. -
I forgot that Gotham TV show Gordon. He was good.Comment

I thought Jeffery Wright was great, and am looking forward to more. But I do think Oldman was a perfect Jim Gordon. Shout out to Bob Hastings on BTAS, who brought a lot to the character just through his voice, especially when he was often just used to spout exposition to move the plot along. When he had the opportunity to really shine, like "I Am The Night" and "Over the Edge", he was fantastic.Comment

i think Gary Oldman captured the character best, though i did like Jeffrey Wright and also Ben Mckenzie from Gotham. Mckenzie gets extra credit for hooking up with Morena Baccarin in real lifeComment

What, no love for Neil Hamilton? Yeah there probably shouldn't be much. I'd say Oldman nailed the role best.Comment

Hamilton was great at playing staight to the point of sheer lunacy. He sold the seriousness of everything better than just about anyone in the show, including Adam. It almost seemed as if he believed there wasn't even a hint of parody involved! His Gordon was pretty much a useless buffoon, but man, he was great at playing it.Comment
