    Joker #1 (1975 comic book)

I just picked up a super nice copy of Joker #1 (1975). I paid way too much for it, but what a great series! ...and check out the cover, it's got the Catwoman outfit that inspired the Mego figure - plus, Riddler, Penguin and Two-Face are on there too. I think I might just have to get the rest now

Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Cool! I never knew the Joker had his own comic!
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Mego made all those characters and all in the outfit seen on that cover, except for Two-Face. I still wonder why they left him out.

series lasted only 9 issues. if you paid less than $40 for a mint copy you got a good deal.

I paid $20, but it's not quite Mint, just Near Mint. Still, it's very nice. (The one pictured is just an image that I found online, not the copy that I picked up)

I had most of them at one time but "cashed out" when the first Batman movie came out.
                  Loved the series though.

Fun series. Interesting to see Joker go up against other villains

                    or even Sherlock Holmes!

I really dug the fact that there were some cool Villain books in the seventies, including Marvel's Super Villain Team-up and Secret Society of Super Villains at DC.

                      More villian lines...

Catwoman and Man-Bat had a line that came out around the same time that lasted for a few issues too.

My favorite was the Green Arrow issue where Joker fell in love with Black Canary.

And the one with the Royal Flush Gang, one of the best super-villain teams!

I've seen the Man-Bat comics from 1976, but never picked them up. However, I do have issue #1 of "Man-Bat vs. Batman" from 1984.

$20 is not bad, I was thinking a lot more then that the way you made it sound
