Planning the Red Hood ala Morrison, The Flamingo will require some more reference and a dang 1/9th scale motorcycle. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

>I'd say that elevates him to a Gotham City worthy freak.
Eh. I dunno.... they've done the axe murderer thing a few times; and it's really tough to come up with a new twist. This seems like a watered down Joker, with added faces. Or a Zjaszi... Zzzij.... Zzzr.... um; the guy who cuts himself after killing someone.
>At least Morrison is trying to pump some new life into Batman's Rogue's Gallery instead of going with the usual dozen or so Arkham residents usually used for punching bags.
HAW! Too true; unfortunately the new guy is kinda like the OLD guys. So it's new, but not TOO new. Which is pretty much the superhero ideal. So.... maybe it's really the most brilliantly concieved bad guy of the last 15 years....?
Okay, I'm lost now.
>I'm sure lame-o DC editorial will bring back Bruce and do away with any sort of growth and change to the character.
But.... that's the qunundrum of the superhero comic. You CAN'T have any REAL development, 'cos that means change and with a perpetual book (AND perpetual marketing) you can't REALLY change anything.
>I take it no one is planning on making a custom?
I was kinda thinking about it; to see who'd win, him or Marvel's White Rabbit. (Who I see was changed fairly recently into a total psycho.)

A stereotype of gay men that eats women's faces, GLAD is gonna love that. Obviously purposely meant to be offensive just for the sake of offending people.
No doubt his next villian will be called Black Face. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

^Too true
From what discussion I've seen on other sites, his wife & kids were murdered & now he's a psycho. I'm not such about the costume origin or face-eating M.O.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I guess history will tell if any of Morrison's new Bat-Villains get to enter the Rogue's Gallery for the long run.
In the last two or three decades, has there been really many villains that have joined the Classic line-up of Batman's Rogues and really stuck? Harley Quinn of course, but she came from the animated show. Maybe Ventriloquist, but he's been killed off recently, and I'm not sure Dini's sexy female Ventriloquist will really "take".
In the last few years, Black Mask seems to have stepped up and showed some chops, but I'm guessing his longevity is up in the air since he was killed and replaced recently and I don't know if that ever really works.Last edited by samurainoir; Nov 2, '09, 2:57 AM.Comment

I know they have gone this route before with introducing a "Batman that kills" back during Az-Bat and even more recently in Battle for the Cowl, and Jason Todd/Red Hood's activities since he's resurfaced. Morrison's added a bit of a new twist in here.
The idea being, if you get guys like Joker, Penguin et al in response to Bruce Wayne/Batman, what happens when guys like Jason Todd/Red Hood set the bar differently with where they draw the line. The response that demands is an even more extreme kind of Villain (so maybe the Joker comparison's aren't far off if you take into account this is supposed to be The Red Hood's Joker).
I'm guessing Grayson/Bats problems involve him inserting himself in this collision between the extreme antics of The Hood and The Flamingo at war with each other.
What made Wally West such a great Flash and an interesting character is that we got to see his struggles filling the big shoes of his mentor Barry. I think we are seeing a similar growth here with Grayson, particularly since he's got the added layer of being so comfortable in his own skin as his own man for so long as Nightwing. Now Destiny suddenly hands him the Batman suit.
Also loving the Damian and Dick dynamic. With Dick quickly realizing that many of the lessons that Bruce taught him don't really apply to Damian, and that he'll need to find his own style of mentorship for a kid who is much more formidable than he ever was as Robin.Comment

Issue 5 left me wondering if the Lazarus pit leaves you immortal or is Jason Todd done for? Looks like he took a shot to the head unless his helmet protected him.You must try to generate happiness within yourself.
