BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Batman's got some real loser foes ( http://www.seanbaby.com/superfriends/riddler.htm ) but this....

    >"most dangerous, psychopathic, murderous foe...think again. Meet the 'new crime' in Gotham City -- the FLAMINGO!"

Well.... there's got to be something wrong with you if you feel the need to fight the guy in the leatherman mask and his teenage associate while dressed like a matador; but I don't see this guy being as dangerous as.... oh, Croc, or Blockbuster, or Bane, or Crazy-Quilt....

Although he's weird enough that it might make for an interesting story; unless he's just another Batman "ooohh! I'm crazy" baddie.

I like West-era foes and love seeing "camp" baddies in cartoons like Brave & the Bold...

But, The Penguin is my favorite Bat-foe (long-live Buzz M.) and yet is widely regarded as the one of the lamer foes. So how is Flamingo supposed to be more formidable?

And is the Flamingo character supposed to be gay? I remember in the early '70s when Denny O'Neil insinuated that the Joker was homosexual (and this has been suggested since, too--see GN Arkham Asylum). This caused a stink and was quickly dropped as a mainstream characterization.

Picked up the first "new" Batman & Robin issue and I can't say it was anything wonderful. I haven't read Batman regularly since wayyy back in that Gotham City earthquake stuff anyway, so I'll pass on all this and save myself the acid reflux. Bruce Wayne will be back as the Batman within the year anyway, I'd imagine.
I did pick up the Batman:Blackest Night tie-in (which was ok, the usual tie-in stuff with a big fight and no real plot advancement). Having read the interaction with the new Robin, I have a suggestion for DC:

Since Johns & DiDio seem hellbent on recycling every single event plotline from the 80s & 90s, feel free to revisit that Death in the Family storyline. With the new phone technology it would be bigger than ever. Text 555DEAD ROBIN to cast your vote now!

I'm keeping in mind that this is the Dick Grayson Batman and the Damian Robin that's going up against The Flamingo....the REAL Bruce Wayne Batman would drop this ******bag in a heartbeat.

A valid point, but he certainly looks silly and not in a fun or ironic way.
Still, I'd be interested to see what his M.O./motivation is...

                      Here's what's going on:
They're purposely making this Dick/Batman, Damien/Robin thing suck sooooooooooo bad, when Bruce returns with Tim, the new, mediocre stories/plot lines will seem like Pulitzer material.

I'm so glad I don't buy comics anymore.

The guy skins the faces off women and eats them for kicks(not to mention blasting the Red Hood in the head), I'd say that elevates him to a Gotham City worthy freak. At least Morrison is trying to pump some new life into Batman's Rogue's Gallery instead of going with the usual dozen or so Arkham residents usually used for punching bags.

^ You can spin it anyway you want but bottom line is crap is CRAP I don't think Morrison's really good at handling Batman's classic foes anyway....I've especially never been impressed with his take on the Joker. These oddballs he's coming up with lately are maybe worthy of the Doom Patrol during his run but certainly not Batman IMO. Especially Bruce Wayne Batman.

Its Crap to you, maybe. Me, I'm enjoying the ride Morrison is taking Batman and Robin on. And yeah, I'm sure lame-o DC editorial will bring back Bruce and do away with any sort of growth and change to the character.
