Ain't It Cool News is reporting an interesting rumor that Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach Watchmen and stars as Freddy Krueger in the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street, is the frontrunner to play Green Lantern villain Sinestro.

Not only that, but the site says that Superman may make a cameo appearance as well!



Face wise I think he could play the part but he is really short, Will wait and see if this develops.

I'll hold a wait and see attitude.....he wouldn't be my first choice for Sinestro, let's put it that way.....is Charlie Callas busy or something?

I wish DC did What If? style stories......I'd like to see "What If Batman Became a Member of The Sinestro Corps?"

^^^ That would be great for an Elseworlds Story of the 52 Universes..., it's gotta be on 1 of them... Those books really came out alot in the 90's..., I haven't scene 1 for some time now...

They put the Elseworlds brand to sleep for awhile.....I read somewhere were someone at DC (maybe it was DiDio?) said that it was always Batman in the Old West or Batman in the Victorian Age or Batman in Pirate Days, etc. So they decided to let the line rest for a while. But then they went and declared a lot of those stories as worlds in the 52universe so I don't understand the point in stopping the brand. Just write better stories instead of Batman in a different era if you've got a problem with it. They would have been better to ape What If and start with actual DC history and then put that Twilight Zone spin on it....

Although now I think it would be cool to revisit the Batman in a different era as Bruce Wayne tries to make his way back to the present after being stuck in the cave by Grant Morrison.

I loved all those ElseWorld Batman Stories... I think I have a bunch of them.

That could work. They could do far worse. Glad to see this movie rolling along. Don't they start filming in January or something?

As for Elseworlds, most of them were pretty good. Sure, there were a few that were just "graft Superman/Batman to classic tale where they don't fit" but then you got some classics like Gotham By Gaslight and Thrillkiller.

Maybe if DC brought them back it would give the writers outlets to due their wilder work there, and leave the main DCU stable for a bit.
