    Starman Alert!

For all of the fans of James Robinson's Starman....during January , it's a skip-month for Blackest Night titles. In their place DC is resuurecting some dead titles for one-issue only:

    - The Power of Shazam! #48 by Eric Wallace
    - The Question #37 by Greg Rucka
    - Suicide Squad #67 by John Ostrander
    - Phantom Stranger #42 by Peter Tomasi
    - Catwoman #83 by Fabian Nicieza
    - The Atom and Hawkman #46 by Geoff Johns
    - Weird Western Tales #71 by Dan DiDio
    - Starman #81 by James Robinson

I'm really also intrigued by Suicide Squad #67 (with John Ostrander, it's original writer) and Atom and Hawkman #46 (by Geoff Johns, who's always handled both characters well IMO).

So they're continuing the numbering from where the original runs ended or "died". Cool! Can't wait to see the original Captain Boomerang back in Suicide Squad.

The dead have risen. Dead titles have risen. Should be fun. I'm also looking forward to Atom and Hawkman.
        Hey! Check out the pictures.

They're all Blackest Night tie-ins but Starman is tieing up loose ends left-over from the original series....

So does this mean Jack Knight is actually returning?

THIS will make me go to a comic shop for the first time in months!

Okay, I guess Jack isn't coming back. From Newsarama'

UPDATE: Writer James Robinson had this to say about Starman #81 on Twitter:
"Just so everyone knows now, Blackest Night Starman will feature a Black Lantern Starman. It will feature Opal and characters therein. But It will not have Jack Knight. He is happily in SF like me. And if he ever came back, it should be something bigger then a single issue. But I am very happy with the issue I've written. I think you'll dig it."
                    I'll still pick it up.

Ah that sorta sucks...but a Black Lantern Starman sounds good even without the presence of Jack Knight. And there's many other deceased Starmen to choose from: Ted Knight, David Knight, Prince Gavyn/Will Payton (I think they were combined during Robinson's run). Plus, the characters of Opal City were always well written and can carry a story without Jack.

I hope Robinson eventually considers the moratorium he's placed on Jack Knight and returns to the character at some point....IMO his Starman was one of the best comic runs EVER! I really miss that book.....

Are these some of the books you have to buy in order to get the different colored power rings coming out later?

                              Hmmmm....

This seems really weird to me. If the book wasn't popular enough to keep publishing, why drag it out for ONE more issue? Unless it ended in the middle of a story.
