^ One of my favorite 70s arcs of all-time! If I recall, Hercules, Iron Fist, Black Goliath, Tagak the Leopard Man, Stingray, Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel, Moondragon all made appearances as well.....

He became the new 3-D Man in Avengers Initiative. During Secret Invasion, he was the only one who could see the Skrulls thanks to his 3-D goggles (ala the movie They Live), and teamed him up with the Skull Kill Krew.

Why isn't he one of the Agents of Atlas?

it would make sense given the original version that appeared in What If...

Because 3D-Man wasn't around in the Atlas days (aka the fifties). He was created in the 70s and given a backstory retroactively that he'd operated in the fifties.

Maybe because it is Kirby artwork.

Retcons don't really stop Marvel from filling teams up with them... just look at the Invaders (Union Jack, Spitfire)!

It's not like there isn't a precedent for him on this team. He's here as well!

Anybody mention the Human Fly yet? That one and Marvel's Godzilla were the first comics I collected every issue.

Yes, the 1950s Avengers were Marvel Boy, 3-D Man, Venus, Gorilla-Man, and M-1 the Human Robot as appearing in What If? vol1 #9...one of the few issues that got absorbed into regular continuity.

The current Agents of Atlas has the same team but adding ex-SHIELD Agent Jimmy Woo and a revived Namora...but the 3-D Man is not on the new team, but certainly deserves to be! The book is one of Marvel's better efforts...currently cancelled but I understand that the team will be appearing in Hercules as a backup series, a couple specials, then returning in the spring starting at #1 again. Jeff Parker told me that when I asked him about the series at the Baltimore ComicCon.

I've not read that Avengers Forver series...any opinions?

I might be misremembering, but wasn't Jimmy Woo part of the 1950's Avengers What If Storyline as well?

Dig the fact that the dude also hunted Godzilla.

Yeah, Jimmy was there in the 50's Avengers What If? He was the nemesis of the Yellow Claw before SHIELD drafted him.
