Iron Man vs. Whiplash

Marvel is apparently launching a new version of Whiplash to tie into the Iron Man 2 movie.....




Yeah I'm old-school but I really prefer the OLD Whiplash/Blacklash costume design:




I dunno why Marvel feels the need to ape the movie stuff....they did the same thing with Spider-Man's organic web-shooters for a few years and now they've gone back to the mechanical version.

i like the classic Whiplash better too, but i guess he does need a more modern look. at least marvel didn't change green goblin when the first spidey movie came out. that suit was ugly

Them little saw balde whip-thingies remind me a lot of one of the bad guys from the old "Battle Angel Alita/Gunm" comic.

While I undertsand why thet'd want want to re-do him I don't think this is the way to go. The mask/hair get up makes him look like Vega from Street Fighter.

I've always thought Whiplash was a stupid character. I understand the concept of suspension of disbelief, but really........ Why doesn't IM just stay out of range and blow the guy to bits? As for the movie design, what's the point of being partially armored? Why bother?
