    Mavel Value Stamps

Anyone ever collect these ? I was just looking at a site with tons of the " marvel mania items and found this site:

    http://www.mvstamps.com

I remember them from buying back issues but never knew there was 100 of them plus a second series. In look through them , all the stamps where featured in numerous issues in the early 70's. I found all the issues they where in where only worth a few bucks at most. The Comic Geek in me wants to get a full set framed for my toy room .

I first discovered those in back issues of 70s Marvels I bought. It amazes me, that at that late date, well after comic fandom had started and comics were regularly being preserved, that Marvel would ask their diehard fans to deface their comics!

All the issues EXCEPT...Incredible Hulk #181...the first appearance of Wolverine. That one could set you back quite a few bucks and you REALLY don't want to cut out THAT stamp!!!

Oh yeah, that one. I remember it now! Looks like Joe Staton artwork to me. He did a lot of house ads back then too. This was the post DC Implosion expansion, much like the DC Explosion was supposed to be with a lot of back-ups.

your right for sure. I use to have that issue before I sold a majority of my vintage comics books. Makes you wonder how many out there where cut up

I loved those things! Didn't Marvel come out a few years later, '78? with some other different value stamps?
Years ago when I was looking to pick up a Hulk #181 I ran across several on Ebay that had the Value Stamp missing. Gladly I always made it a point to ask if it had the stamp or not.
