Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths DVD!

    Blog@Newsarama

    DC's next big animated feature!

An original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne
McDuffie (Justice League) rooted in DC Comics’ popular canon of
    “Crisis” stories.

Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern) is executive producer.
Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern) and Sam Liu
    (Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) are co-directors.

In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a “good” Lex Luthor arrives
from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save
his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters
with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. What
ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that
threatens both planets and, through a diabolical plan launched by
Owlman, puts the balance of all existence in peril.
At first I thought it was going to be the Silver Age classic, but I'm actually rather excited about an adaptation of the Morrison/Quitely Graphic Novel.

If so, does that mean it's still "An original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne McDuffie"?

^^^ Considering that they changed all the designs, changed Kyle to Hal and have a totally vanilla looking animation style, I guess it is more McDuffie than Morrison/Quitely. Bet they totally loose the plot of the source material, especially the whole how does good and evil work on a reverse planet.

I guess we'll have to wait and see! At the very least it looks like it leans very heavily on it, although I can't remember if Owlman was the main plot engine in the JLA:Earth 2 GN... I seem to recall Brainiac turning out to be the Big Bad?

^^^ Luthor escaping to DC Earth was the main plot engine for it. Brainiac turned out to be the real villain later in the story, planning to merge/crash the matter and antimatter earths.

What was Brainiac's role? Did he have a Diabolical Plan? I seem to recall that Owlman was duped along with the rest of them. It was kind of a Morrison style twist on the old nugget of Superheroes meeting, fight and then gather up to fight the REAL threat or something along those lines?

Brainiac was a believed to be drone working in Ultraman's sky fortress, I'd have to go look, but I believe he may have allowed Luthor to escape to distract the CSA from his own plans. But with the good/evil thing, was Brainiac really the villain?
