I'm a sucker for Superman's origin in just about every form whether its movies, TV cartoons whatever.

I get it if its not your thing, but from my understanding only the first issue is Smallvillish, but this might be a good series to wait for the trade on.

While I am enjoying World of Krypton book, I'd prefer a good Superman book focusing on Superman and his primary back-up characters.

At least there are other options for Batman. If you don't like the new developments, there's Batman Confidential, the Kevin Smith book and another Moech/Kelly Jones bat book.

But, for Superman, it's only Superman/Batman, which is very spotty.

everybody BUT The Man of Steel himself.

isn't this just DC preparing for possibly losing superman in 2 years?

as well as Lex Luthor's relationship with Clark Kent seems to be a priority too.[/QUOTE]

i thought back in the 50 & 60's it was superboy who had the friendship with lex and when in an accident with superboy where lex lost his hair thier friendship was over and hatred began. i don't remember a friendship between clark and lex except for stupid Smallville tv show. unless there was something of that from byrnes update forward, as i didn't pay any attention to those stories.

^^ Yep, you are right, and the SUperboy strip in Adventure seems toreinforce that. Not to mention setting up a similiar adversary for Superboy.

Ronnie Raymond! Holy crap! Just read it....AWESOME! Geoff Johns' characterization of these guys is great...too bad other writers couldn't have written them the same way these late few years....we wouldn't have had to deal with sub-par replacements and substitutes.

Since even the DC Direct Black Lantern Firestorm figure isn't even out for another several months a true fan of BL or Ronnie would be hard-pressed to pass up that custom figure.

Even More so when they actually held the figure,.. & scene the detail in His Face that the Camera wasn't able to Capture. The head was also Hand Sculpted from What I hear,.. took the Artist like 75 hrs to actually make. Mindblowing stuff.

Johns and Frank are better than Franks and Beans.

It was very smallvillish, but I liked what it incorporated from the TV series. It was a really good amalgam of things we've seen from the various Superman origin/early day stories we've seen in the past.

I thought it was interesting that little Clark was as turned on about saving Lana as he was kissing her. The heat vision being activated when Clark gets aroused is straight out of Smallville and a nice addition to the mythos.

I'd love to see an ongoing Superboy (Kal-El not Kon-El) series or a series of mini series along these lines — more out of costume than in — if it were handled by someone like Johns or Busiek.

Or maybe a book featuring the contemporary Superboy with an original Superboy backup or vice versa
