Didn't Schiver Draw some Plasticman in a few Issues of Superman/Batman ? ... I thought He did. Not that Bad,.. I liked his Images,.. Kinda like McGuinness as far as drawing the character all outta control all the time with his Powers.

Van Schiver would be a bad fit for Plas, I don't think his style would work. Kyle Baker was a perfect one for the book and it had critical praise, but didn't sell. If DC ever tries Plastic Man again, a Darwyn Cooke type cartoon style would work well. Maybe he'll pop up in the DC pulpiverse eventually.

Loved that Kyle Baker Plastic Man book. It had some real charm to it.

I think putting Plas in the new pulp universe would be a mistake....isn't it a universe sans super-powers?

Dunno, Doc Savage is quasi powered. Is there anything new on it anyway? I thing the Doc/Batman book might have been solicited, but no other news lately.

Yeah but Doc's power is nothing like Plas' stretching/morphing ability....that's probably pushing the envelope a bit much.

I could see Plas in with that, he'd be a good contrast to the rest of them. If DC has any sense of humor, they'd do a new series called Plastic Man:Rebounce.

Did DC get the Avenger to be in the Pulpiverse thing?

Speaking of Kyle Baker, I thought he was great on the Shadow ongoing and Justice inc prestige mini.

^ Those two runs are hidden gems IMO...I know the Shadow wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I was bumped when the book was cancelled and sort of left hanging in the storyline.....

Were those the Baker issues or the Chaykin issues?

I know Helfer/Baker's Shadow isn't for purists, but dang if they weren't a hoot! I mean only on the verge of cancellation when no one was looking could they have gotten away with this...


This GN from Marvel came out around the same era and I enjoyed it a great deal as a more traditional take on The Shadow.

They were the Baker ones, late in the run there were a lot of delays.

Chaykin only did the 4-issue mini-series. Sienkiewicz was the 1st artist on the on-going, followed by Baker. The delays came with Baker. Almost Camelot 3000-like if I recall.....

I thought I was the only person on the planet who read The Bakers!!! It is great stuff. I'm also enjoying Special Forces a great deal.
