    Marvel Babies

    So;

    They've been advertising a new cartoon featuring the Marvel characters. Design-wise they look like kid versions of themselves, and it's all drawn in very broad strokes. Anyone else seen this?

    Based on the popular "SuperDeformed" PVC figures that have been in the toy aisles for a number of years now.

    My niece and nephew love the little Super Squad figures and usually have a couple stashed away in their pockets to play with.

            Iron Spiderman?
            It's actually from the comics. Tony Stark gave Spidey a gold and maroon armored suit. All this around the time Peter revealed his secret ID and sided with Stark and his super hero registration act. Don't ask.

            My son LOVES the Super Hero squad. They are good cheap toys to buy when your kid is dragged shopping with you, he has tons of Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe and Indiana Jones figures like this. And now Mattel is making very similar Brave and the Bold figures.

              I am afraid you are probably right. Get used to this. Welcome to Disney!

              You know. They kind of remind me of those Microheads we used to draw about five or six year ago for fun on a bunch of websites. They are still around and I have a few of mine floating around back when I was learning photoshop from templates.

                      So;

                      I saw the first episode today and it was.... er....

                      The premise is that all the superheroes live in one city, and all the bad guys in a neighboring one that's separated by a big wall. When something happens Tony Stark's supercomputer picks the best heroes to deal with it, and off they go. Oh; they're not kid versions either, they're adults. Tiny, tiny adults....

                      It's like an unholy mix of "Terror Comes to Tiny Town" and a HeroClix game.

                        I also saw it. It's definitely for the kids the but range of heroes and villains kept me entertained. They were all pretty much in character. Captain America was the most off, treated as the seasoned oldtimer who wasn't sure what time period he was in. Stan Lee was the voice of the Mayor.
