anyone reading this? I've seen adds where there's a female one (ororo?) and one or 2 others running around, T'chala dead or something?

But yeah, I heard some rumblings on ol' T'challa being replaced. Can't Marvel leave anybody in their own book anymore. I guess DC can't do it either, see Batman and Superman right now.

Quick synopsis: I believe it was Dr Doom that set a trap and ambushed T'Challa, practically blew him up. His near dead body was brought back to Wakanda. He was basically on the verge of dying with his spirit crossing over.
His sister tried to become the Black Panther, and the panther God rejected her.

T'Challa's mom and Ororo went to a medicine woman to send Ororo into the spirit world to brick T back.

Some guy who's name is escaping me was tearing through the jungle killing everybody including Manape. T's sister put the suit on and became Black Panter to fight him.

While in spirit world Ororo's plan was to exchange her soul for T'Challa's.

Sister Black Panther and mom and medicine woman tricked the bad guy and got his soul switched for T'Challa's.

So at this point his sister is the Black Panther for now. ANd T'challa is healing from his attack.

I don't know when he will be panther, for now it is thw sis.

I've given the past two series by Hudlin a shot, but can't really get into it. I thought Christopher Priest's run was fantastic. The dynamic between Everett Ross and T'Challa made for a real compelling book and I was really sorry to see that seemingly retconned out. Great moody painted art by the likes of Joe Jusko and Mark Texiera as well.


When the Priest series was on the verge of cancellation and they asked him to do something radical to shake things up, I actually liked Kasper Cole, the New Black Panther a great deal. Black Panther as the Superhero version of the tv series The Shield was exactly the shot in the arm the title needed. I followed that storyline into The Crew and it's a shame that it was aborted from there (even though threads ended up in Captain America and Falcon).


I would really like to see the return of Everett Ross and Kasper Cole as supporting characters in T'Challa's book.

Given the fact that you can find Priest's Black Panther in the cheap bins, I heartily recommend folks check it out over the current run.
