For some reason I still buy it but I've been questioning that practice for years now....I guess I just treat it like a TV Guide for comics....only good for one reading on the can....
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!
I haven't read it in years. What got me the most with them, they were the ones bad mouthing grading for years, then they start to have a graded section in their mag.
I love reading about comics but not neccesarily reading them.
I prefer twomorrows stuff though...
Yeah. I keep up with the modern comics happenings mostly through the online sites. But I subscribe to BackIssue and pick up the books that interest me. And they publish A LOT of those.
I enjoyed Wizard's irreverent humor, but sometimes they got a little full of themselves. It annoyed me sometimes.
I quit reading it. It was just all about Hype making books seem more cool than they really were. I always laughed and joked that they got kick backs from Marvel and DC to say what books were really Hot and you need to buy this and that.......
I still read it. Not what it used to be butjust good enough to be considered for mealtime reading. Plus, there are so few mags still being published I read anyway.

Too true! Wizard was a part of the Image boom back in the day. Malibu Publishing owned Wizard, who LOVED the Image books to no end, and Image was originally a faction of.... Malibu Publishing. Hmmmm....
A friend also pointed out that in their price guide almost EVERY book was "HOT!" 'cos as soon as a book went "cold" they took it out of the guide!
I gave up on it years ago. I get the issues with Hulk in it. Comics Value Monthly was ALOT better but because it didn't have burp/fart jokes is bottomed out.
CVM was better beacuse it kept you totally informed with the prices of ALMOST EVERY comic, not just the hot ones like Wizard has ALWAYS done. Never did care for it as a price guide.
