titan tots or better late than never AW YEAH!

over this last weekend I realized 3 things

    1 - I have two children.
Well, I didn't just notice it, but was reminded of it as I am about every third minute of every day.

2 - I have two children who love Superheroes.
Again, not a big revelation considering genetics, but not something I contemplate all the time.

3 - Art Baltazar and Franco have an award winning comic that neither I, nor my children have seen.

So, I set about fixing that today and picked up issue 10 of the Tiny Titans.

    Thanks Art.
This stuff is amazingly fun. My daughter (wonderbatgirl) is at this very moment hosting a tea party with my son (superfrog) and all thier buddies including the Green Goblin, Kim Possible, Chewbacca, and Mugato.

If you have kids and have not given them the opportunity to get lost in this little world of tiny heroes, I urge you to pick up a copy and let them have at.

And once again to Art and crew. Thanks. Thanks for an alternative to TV; thanks for cool artwork that inspires and excites the imagination; thanks for putting hard work into something that encourages kids to learn to read. Thanks and Aw Yeah - Titans!!!

Tiny Titans is also a GREAT tool to teach kids reading. My son and I go back and forth and read each other pages. And Art's awesome portrait of Andrew as Robin from Mego Meet '08 hangs over his bed while we read!

comics are a great learning tool. At least the G rated ones - the others are useful learning tools much later on

We have been reading from a pile of silver and bronze age hero books that we got from our uncle a little while ago. The bif and pop from that era keep them quite entertained while not being too graphic and the dialog is usually pretty easy to follow. At least until you get to Excelsior!!! But, that is what papa is around for - helping with the hard words. They are also building quite an appreciation for graphic art and storytelling at the same time.

            aw yeah - comics !
