I wonder if this is true. Since it originated at AICN, I'm not completely convinced. They seem to be about 50/50 on stuff like this.

Smallivlle DOES need something like this if it's going to go on. Clark going proactive last year was a step in the right direction, but he needs a suit. He needs THE suit, but if this let's Smallville coexist with the potential movie franchise, I can deal.

Kryptonsite makes a good point on this rumor: Welling has never been to SDCC, and he is supposedly going to appear in the new suit at Sunday's Smallville panel. Welling is notoriously media shy. It's hard to imagine he'll do it.

The blurb in TV Guide for next week just talks about Zod coming. They are calling him Major Zod, before he became General Zod. No info on Lois, Chloe or the Justice League. The whole season is going to suck I think.

Just stick the guy in THE suit already and change the name to Metropolis. I figure ratings would go through the roof. Heck, even Smallville haters like myself would start watching!!

We all KNOW he becomes Superman, but they're trying desperately to NOT have him become Superman.... even though they've added almost every other aspect of the mythos to the show. I don't think Warners will LET them have him become Superman in the traditional suit. Warners has this very weird (and in my opinion, very close-minded) view that different versions of the characters shouldn't exist out there in the media. It's the reason no other Batman characters besides Batman himself were allowed on JLU after The Batman began production. It's the reason Bruce Wayne hasn't been on Smallville (WB thinks it will confuse folks who watch Nolan's Bat-movies, what?). Warners wants a GOOD Superman movie franchise bad, but they want Smallville too, but never the two shall completely meet, apparently.

^^^ No thanks, I don't have any interest in a big screen continuation of the teen drama-tizing of the Superman mythology. Bleehhhh. If he gets any sort of suit it will be a sleeveless hoodie with jeans and sneakers.
