    Question ?

Okay so I am not a die hard comic collector , but I do collect, and had a long stretch of 15 years where I never touched a comic book. About a year ago I started collecting again, but slowly here and there. So here goes....

    1. I have tons of books bagged and boarded. I was toying with grading them. I like the idea of the slab to protect them more , but I have heard a few things. One once slabbed they need to be re-slabbed every so often because of gases in the paper. Is It worth it or should I just keep to the convential ?

    2. I also was curious who was preferred PGX or CGC ?

    3. When looking for books that are not available at my local shop, Would anyone reccomend Mile High Comics.com, My Comic Shop.com, or is there someone else people prefer, and trust with the conditions listed that they are looking to buy ?

    I've purchased from both mycomicshop.com and milehighcomics.com.

Mile High has better prices and selection IMHO, but mycomicshop also had stuff that I was looking for that Mile High didn't. Go with Mile High first I would say, free shipping if you order enough, and then fill out the rest of your want list with mycomicshop.

        Hmmmm....

MIle High Comics is probably the overall best place to shop. Keep checking back, 'cos they have a lot of sales. I've also found a lot of stuff on ebay. Most of what I like isn't very valuable; so I get lots of real good package deals on ebay. But you gotta keep checking, and should have a good idea of the value of what you're looking for ahead of time so's not to get caught up in a bidding war.

As for protecting them.... mine are all strictly for reading, so I don't get too hung up on that sort of thing. I keep them in bags, two per; back to back. No boards. Two per bag keeps 'em rigid, and saves on space. (I have a LOT of comic books....)

          re: slabbing.

I would never do it for my private collection because I'm primarily a reader.

The reality is, comics are a collectible commodity as well, so if I were to sell parts of my collection off, I would consider it if it gave me a high enough return to be worth the effort.

Don, I haven't really been a reader since I was in my teens. More of a Collector. I do like your storage Idea though.

            Thanks everyone !

              BLASPHEMY!!!!!

              ....I mean.... really?

If you're not concerned with reading them, then yeah; there are lots of decent ways to protect them forever. But I'd probably save the slabs, cases, and APA grading for select issues. No point shelling out that kind of quid for a 50 cent book. Plus, it'd take up a lot of space.
