    Anyone Still Reading BoosterGold ?

    Anyone Still reading BoosterGold ?
Man,.. I must say,.. I think the book is better than Ever..
Love the New "Must Save Dick Grayson " story line...
    Jurgens is Fantastic.
But yeah,.. so they up this book to 3.99 Cuz of the Blue Beetle new feature in the back of the book,.. & I gotta say,.. after reading 2 issues of it,.. I just don't care. But I do like the Beetle in the New Teen Titan's book... I guess to me,.. Thats where the Dude should stay for now..

Yup still reading it! Jurgens has always been under-rated IMO and he's doing some top-notch stuff on Booster Gold!

I agree on the Blue Beetle 2nd feature.....I feel like I'm paying an extra buck now for nothing...not interested. The character to me shows up too much anyway and now he's invading one of my favorite reads of the month and I've got to pay extra for it.

I REALLY wish I'd started out with this one at #1. I'm still tempted to give it a try. I've always liked Jurgens writing and art. Add a "crossover" with New Teen Titans and it's almost too much to resist.

One of DC's best books, it's at the top of my read pile every month! It's a fun series, and Jurgens shows the proper respect for the characters he's handling. I would like to see Booster tackle some more historical stuff without super-guest stars- say a Civil War story or Revolutionary War with only historical figures in it. Or using some really obscure DC characters- like a Custer's Last Stand story featuring Foley of the Fighting 5th.

I could live without the Blue Beetle backup . The series doesn't have the same qualities of the Booster series...the backup series should compliment the title, such as The Question does for Batwoman in Detective.

In place of the severly overused new Blue Beetle, I'd prefer an untold tale about whatever character is being handled in the main story- for instance, a new Barbara Gordon Batgirl story set in the past. Or a Rip Hunter solo series featuring Rip meeting historical figures. Or Ted Kord Blue Beetle stories. Or Dan Garrett Blue Beetle Stories. Or 8 blank pages I could draw my own series on. Anything except new Blue Beetle.

Of course, it could be worse..it could be a Milestone character backup - another grouping DiDio seems determined to shove down our throats. Notice how they've taken over the Brave & the Bold series, turning it craptacular and forcing me to drop the last few issues from my pull list. Oh, and the current issue even has new Blue Beetle in it!

I hear ya! Brave and the Bold has been dumped by me as well. It's a shame...the title held such promise when it was re-launched by Waid and Perez. But editorial got in the way, Perez and then Waid left and it's been a crapfest ever since. I stuck with it waaaay longer than I should have.Should have split when Waid did....

^ With the exception of some fill-ins issues (non-Jurgens) I don't think this title has suffered as much as others have after Johns departure....

Here we were trashing current Brave & the Bold...and DC puts this up on Newsarama:

THE BRAVE & THE BOLD #28
                        Written by J. Michael Straczynski

                        J. Michael Straczynski (Amazing Spider-Man) and Jesus Saiz (OMAC PROJECT) continue their series of unlikely pairings with a match that spans the decades! When an experiment meant to alter the speed of light goes awry, Barry Allen finds himself face-to-face with some surprising allies – World War II’s legendary Blackhawks! But Barry isn’t the Flash they know, and he’s not even the kind of hero they need to help fight history’s most grueling war! What must Barry sacrifice to serve his country – and his world?

I hope they are letting JMS do whatever he wants on the title. He's strongest when he's left alone by editorial. Looks like they are not using this to launch the Archie heroes after all? I would imagine there was a drop in sales with the departure of Waid and the Milestone character experiment on B&B.

I remember reading how JMS' initial plans were some very unorthodox pairings, including trying to get some Vertigo characters back into the DCU.
