If only Geoff Johns could clone himself...

So he can write more books!

GEOFF JOHNS PRIME: Blackest Night - Comic Book Resources

He drops lots on hints on books and characters he'd like to work on, but given his busy schedule I'm sure many of these are in a very distant future.

Which characters/titles do you want to see Geoff Johns on? Shazam? Aquaman? Hawkman? Wonder Woman?

Guesses for his project with Gary Frank?

What is the status of the “All Star Batgirl” series that you were planning on doing with JG Jones? Will it still be published? Have any scripts or art been done? Is JG still the artist? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Fans are eager for more from Johns and the Marvel family
Believe it or not, Trevor, I have the first issue written and sitting on my computer, but JG Jones moved on to “Final Crisis” and I moved on to “Blackest Night.” But the story will, in one form or another, be seen. Actually, there’s more information coming later this year or early next.

Barbara Gordon is a character I’ve wanted to write for a long time alongside Batman and Wonder Woman.
Gary Frank and I have another project we’ll be following “Superman: Secret Origin” up with in 2010, but it won’t be in the Superman universe.
There’s some once-A-list characters that I’d really like to see your take on. Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman spring to mind. Could you shed some light on what you’re doing post-“Blackest Night?”

I can’t talk about what I’m doing post-“Blackest Night,” but I will be working on a new project. I’ve worked with Captain Marvel, but I’ve never had the chance to work with Wonder Woman on a larger project and she’s someone I’ve actually come up with stories for and set them aside.
Could you please, please, please, please, do a “Shazam!” book?

Someday. Right now I’m waiting for Grant Morrison’s Earth-5 take on the Marvel Family.

Are you a Marvel Family fan? Would you ever consider writing a Captain Marvel title in the future?

Yes! All right, all right. I am working on some Captain Marvel related stuff right now, but I can’t say much more about it.
My question, is there any chance you’ll be involved in an Aquaman book with Shane Davis? Or possibly a future Hawk-project? Neither seems out of the realm of possibility and both would be fantastic.

Carter Hall! Aquaman and his crew are all over “Blackest Night.” What’s next for him remains to be seen, but I certainly think he is one of the strongest characters with one of the richest mythologies in comics. I’ve loved what J. Michael Straczynski has done with Thor and it feels to me that Aquaman has that same epic scale behind him that only needs to be set free.

Hopefully Johns will have his hands in many "Rebirth" type situations...fixing what others have f'ed up and puttin these characters back where they belong...in the spotlight...instead of collecting dust on the shelf because of someone else's (read: DiDio)
ignorance in how to handle the characters.

Aquaman definitely needs a fix as does Hawkman (once again). But would Johns tackle Hawkman considering he's already done it once? And I think Wonder Woman could use his help as well...the title doesn't seem to be attracting much attention, even under the pen of Gail Simone. Gail's a great writer but her Wondy stories have been a little flat for me lately and I've dropped the title. Johns could give it the boost it needs.

I just want him to write the World of Green Lantern Till I die... & Then that would be cool for me. Could care less about the rest..., Although an Aquaman book,.. with a good artist does sound interesting...

His Aquaman would be awesome....Of this I am quite sure! Arthur Curry (The ORIGINAL Arthur Curry) deserves to have the same attention Johns has given GL, Flash and the Legion recently. Hopefully this will come to pass....

Put Johns on Aquaman, cut out the "Orin" crap, the hook hand, the water hand, etc, and go back to good ol' son-of-a-lighthouse-keeper-and-an-Atlantean and call it good.

I got the first two issues of Flash Rebirth and its not the same magic he had on GL. He'd be better on JLA than Robinson, tho.

I have to agree with the concensus on Flash: Rebirth. From reading the book I get the feeling that Johns doesn't think Barry needed to come back.

Just a stray thought on Blackest Night #1.
Final Crisis was just as much a statement about Morrison's dislike for strict editorial control & tight continuity as it was a superhero story. After reading the end of the Hawks in Blackest Night, I couldn't help thinking about how Johns had set the Hawks up only to have subsequent writers either disregard or change what he had established. Specifically Kendra. She is nothing like the character Johns introduced in JSA & developed in Hawkman. Not that change can't be good, but Kendra went from being rather unique to just another super-hottie.
Could Johns be using BN to make a statement regarding the way titles that he had established were later mishandled? Could BN be a slap at editorial for allowing the foundations he built on titles, like Hawkman, be destroyed?

BTW, my mentioning of Morrison isn't an invitation to bash him or an attempt to hijack the thread.
