Is Archie just going to farm out their entire catalog to other publishers?
No, seriously, this may be a good thing. Archie has done a bunch of excellent lower-priced trades (in particular I recommend looking up the best of The Fly, the Christmas stories, & the Josie & the Pussycats volumes). But they don't seem to get noticed anywhere and I guess a lot of stores don't really stock them. You can find them pretty cheap on Ebay, I got a few where the shipping was more than I bid for the book...and still alltogether only about 1/2 of cover!
A nice Archive edition showcasing Dan DeCarlo would be great. I'd like to see some obscure stuff get collected such as Katy Keene and Cosmo the Merry Martian (and if you've never read Cosmo, you are missing out...track a copy down -there were six issues- and it is not the "Casper-like" series it sounds like, it's one of those offbeat gems that are out there waiting to be found!) I wonder if the superhero stuff may show up now in a DC Archive now that DC is doing the Red Circle heroes. I would buy a SHIELD or PEP comics Archive anyday!
I like the IDW collections better than their regular comics, mostly because a big chunk of the issues are ads for IDW zombie comics. Wonder when they'll do Zombie Archie? You would think Jughead and his appetite would be a natural for such a series!
