^^^ They can't recreate the Giffen era JLI, Didio's managed to kill off most of them. The most successful run since the JLI era would be Morrison's Magnificent 7 era, guess Didio can't see that. IT was epic stories with the original line up. He threw in a few others here and there and they worked.

So what you're saying is that once again, rather than come up with anything new or interesting, DC will be going to the well of quarter-box ideas from the 1980s...this time to try and recreate the Giffen JLA, JLI, JLE..

Not what I'm saying at all, if you take it literally that they are going back to sitcom style "bwahaha". I was just pointing out that there has been in fact one point in history where second stringers in the Justice League has been successful in regards to how DC measures it in terms of financial return around number of comics sold.

If we are going by the speculation in the linked article, they are actually taking their cue from Marvel's current ability to exploit The New Avengers into a multi-book franchise by combining Wolverine, Spiderman, Iron Man et al with 2nd stringers like Luke Cage, Sentry and Hawkeye. Mighty Avengers, Dark AVengers, Avengers Initiative, Ms Marvel, Spiderwoman, Secret Invation, Dark Reign, Secret Warriors, etc.

Of course this has been the formula for the most part since Cap's Kookie Quartet hasn't it? Cap and Iron Many have always rubbed shoulders with characters female Afro Captain Marvel, Starfox and She-Hulk among others with varying degrees of success in the past 4-5 decades.
