    Diabolik

I have to admit, I haven't really read much of the comic (is there readily available translations?), but I do have fond memories of the campy sixties movie when I watched it as a kid.

I understand Fantomex from Morrison's New X-Men is a homage/ripoff to the character?

    Any fans of the Diabolik?

it really does deserves a remastered dvd because of what an important film it is. the late 60's vibe is second to none in my book.

Wish the MST version could would come out. The Beasties did the homage thing in a video, too.

I love the movie, I bought it when it came out on VHS when I was in college. It's trippy and creative, some of the plot twists are better than movies today.

I think Dark Horse made small digest translations of the book a few years back. I remember as a kid seeing the original issues at my grandparents house. I had a few relatives that used to read the original Italian version of the comic. Used to love the artwork. Jetix had an animated series in Italy. Unfortunately it's Italian dialogue only. I bought one of the DVD's and my Italian is halfway decent...Being 1st generation here in America, it was spoken in the house so if I didn't pick anything up I would be a complete moron. I understood most of the story. Nice animation. I think there was a total of 3 or 4 DVD's....I could be wrong.

                Hmmmm....

I saw sniglets of the comic when I was a kid. Same with "Kriminal." Interesting stuff.... between them and Golgo 13 I was REAL unimpressed with the Punisher. (He kinda seemed like a watered down entry into the genre.)

The Diabolik movie is kinda neat; especially if you like the "Our Man Flint" style of superspy.

Any watch the Fox Kids cartoon? Worth digging up? I have to admit that I have a hard time seeing how they could have made the Counter-Culture/Terrorist angle work in that context. I'm assuming it hit the airwaves prior to 9-11?

                    Any opinions on Fantomex?
