Robby seemed to be kind of melodramatic about his blog. There was some great historical info there, but his personal opinions sometimes were hard to swallow. But then again, it was a personal blog, so I guess he could do what he wanted.
I hope it returns in some form. I'd miss it for weeks and then do a massive read of new and old posts.
I'm wondering if there's action afoot on publishing the pages...he mentioned on the forum a few times he was looking into collecting it. There was a lot of info on that Blog, especially the stuff about Gaspar Saladino, etc. I always looked forward to it ...it was a great read.
Or maybe his battle with Harlan Ellison escalated into something more? That was fairly intense for a week or so.
Yeah his personal opinions and diatribes aside, it was a very useful site as far as Silver Age pics, graphics, general info....There's some pages archived at the Wayback Machine but many are incomplete graphically.
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!
I read it each morning for a few years. It was EXCELLENT for it's historical content, bringing in comics, toys, everything SUPERHERO, plus other fun facts.
Yeah there was an issue between Kurt Kimball (Robby Reed) and Harlan Ellison over a blog which showcased an old black and white story by Ellison and Neal Adams...was it "Rock God"? Anyway, Ellison said Kimball didn't have the right to reproduce the entire story/art online whereas Kimball originally claimed "fair use" as part of a review.
The blog was pulled, there was some back and forth amongst both their minions and eventually Ellison gave the OK to put it back up at some point....to my knowledge, that never happened.

I hope that it is because Dial B for Blog comes back in some kind print edition. I would definitely pick it up. Two Morrows would be the perfect publisher for that kind of thing.
the whole thing with Ellison escalated when board members of Ellison started posting on the Dial B board, and Robby kinda sorta didn't seem to believe that they were for real. I think the Rock God page did go back up, not that it mattered as it was one of the final pages of the series. Robby had stated that he & Ellison came to an agreeable arrangement on it, and Robby removed any postings from the message boards concerning it.
That was probably the most publicity Ellison got for "Rock God" in years.....
I had always heard that Ellison was a butt-plug, but had never realized just how petty the little man could be until I read one of his rants about it posted at Dial B. He talked about litigation over the issue, but I seriously doubt that he would've wasted his money on it.
It was bizarre.
And his henchmen seemed like syncophantic little beyotches.
