It's really eye-opening how many characters DC has killed off lately....of the 23 mentioned, 18 were killed during Dan DiDio's regime.

Spectre melted him it was great. basically if your dead in DC your gonna be a black lantern, every GL that died in the war with Sinestro will be back. I love how they list Jonathen Kent.. um he's alive again already, Bruce Wayne not dead yet... but I'll bite it's been a great story so far

They keep mentioning Bruce, but isn't he still alive in the past? Of course, if he's alive in the past and never makes it back to the present (yeah right) he'd be dead in the present...ugh...my head hurts!!!

Why does Jason Rusch Firestorm look white here?

Is that supposed to be J'onn attacking Hal and Barry and destroying Bruce's tombstone?

Methinks no one knows that Bruce is still alive (in the past or wherever)....for some reason they gave him a
headstone so everyone is just assuming that he's dead.

Or it could be one of those things where he was transported to the past just seconds before he died
so at some point he'll have to "die again" to mesh up with the body Superman was holding....

Plus I think they might be throwing this in there as just a tease...

Is that supposed to be J'onn attacking Hal and Barry and destroying Bruce's tombstone?
                  Yeah I think that's J'onn....

I believe this was done "off-panel". I think that whose ever corpse was buried in Bruce's place will become a Black Lantern. This will show the heroes that it's not really Bruce.

ah, yeah that makes sense i guess. But they didn't announce Bruce or Batman was dead to the world. so why a grave marker?

I think you are implying waaaayy too much logic. They don't like that at DC anymore. lol

Ok deep breath. This is what I have come to understand, now not all of this knowledge is first hand so forgive me if I fudge up here or there. When Bruce/Batman was hit by Darkseid's beams there were not the standard Omega beams. This style of death was only used once before on Mr. Miracle in the Seven Solders mini (also written by Morrison) in which the person who was hit with the beams body dies (not vaporized like the normal Omega Beams) and his soul (or what not) gets lost in time. Now Mr. Miracle escaped his death and found his way back to his body and was ok. So I assume that is the opening Morrison left to bring Bruce back when ever they want. Batman and Bruce were buried separately and I think Bruce was put under later on so as not to connect the two but as far as the public of the DCU is concerned they know both Bruce Wayne and Batman are dead. Now as far as Him being a Black Lantern I assume one of two things will happen (just my thoughts on the subject) Either they will not be able to raise his body due to his odd death or after he is risen Bruce's soul will find its way back to his body and use it as a back door to help defeat them. I assume the end game of this will be to allow many of the dead guys to come back to full life when this is all over. I also predict a White Lantern but that is just my two cents. Also yes that is Martian Manhunter and I am not sure how but that is indeed Ronnie Raymond Firestorm.

I think you have hit the nail on the head regarding the built-in backdoor to the Batman scenario! Great observation.

                              Any theories on Captain America?
