I remember reading in one of his online columns years ago that McDuffie got into animation in order to try and drum up some comic book work, and things unexpected took off for in the field of animation.

Given his track record on JLU, they really should have let him free to do what he needed to do without all the continuity baggage.

Not that Marvel was much better, giving him the Fantastic Four and then pulling out Reed and Sue for Black Panther and Storm.

Funny but 100% accurate as to the state of DC these days....I didn't care for McDuffie's run on JLA and now I know why.....poor guy's hands were tied from day one apparently.
