Agreed. In MY world, Kirby, Romita and Ditko have NEVER been eclipsed ... and the ONLY "Lee" I recognize is Stan!
Excelsior!!

Let's create an island where only vintage comics exists.
The comics greats will reside on this island with us, and draw new (but vintage) comics every day for us.
And when those guys from Lost crashland, we'll just boot them off our patch.
Except maybe Hurley. He'd totally fit in....

Don't forget you're going to be taking piles of Speedball, Ravage 2099, and Backstreet Boys comics with you as well!
And this just in... Stan Lee will be making comics for you to read with Big Eyes and Speedlines.

There's plenty of new stuff that has the old fashioned comic satisfaction to them. Check out New Frontier, Hellboy, The Goon, Batman Year 100, the recent Space Ghost mini from DC, Agents of ATLAS.

Depends on how far back you consider "vintage." (Millie the Model anyone? Anyone....?)
Y'know.... rather than rehash the "good ol' days" I'd rather see something NEW! NEW people! Not the same old same old! Part of the problem with the Big Two and a Half is that they're TRAPPED in these endless remake/redo/relaunch loops! Seriously, is THIS neccessary?:
Does NO-ONE have anything to add to the mix? I feel bad for the superhero fans out there 'cos it seems like everything stopped thirty years ago for you guys. And now they want Claremont to come back and pick up the X-Men where he left off? Really? I don't know about you but that screams "we don't have a clue!" to me. Kinda how most of the superhero movies that come out these days cannibalize plots from 20+ year old books.

Given the Nostalgia focus of the Mego Museum, it's probably a bit of a barometer where folks want to take the general conversation (classic Superheroes, SciFi, Monster Movies, with a bit of Pulp Characters thrown in).
I dig the cape and tights and I'm happy to talk about it since it's in the ballpark, but if I want to talk about Deathnote or Adrian Tomine's Optic Nerve or Druillet or Richard Corben, I tend to go over to the forums where the focus is specifically Manga or Indie Comics or EuroComics or Underground Comix.
It's the great thing about the internet! You don't need to hang around here waiting for someone willing to talk Manga when there are hundreds of other venues for that kind of stuff.
>You don't need to hang around here waiting for someone willing to talk Manga when there are hundreds of other venues for that kind of stuff.
Actually, that's what I consider BAD about the internets.... you never have to hear a dissenting opinion so folks coccoon really bad. You don't get any real exchange of ideas, just the same ones cycling around over and over. And people lose the ability to discuss dissenting opinions.
There is no shortage of dissent in a gathering of like minded fans, absolutely none. The implication of one genre being superior than the other is not introducing new ideas to the table either.
