Deodato has always been able to draw beautiful gals. He seems to temper the volleyball breasts and 6 foot tall legs more now, so that's even better. I remember his Wonder Woman was quite a shocker back in the 90s.
yes hot.. but I hate the fact book is now Moonstone/Ms Marvel not Carol Danvers/Ms Marvel, not what I paid for
lol.
I added it to my Pull list because of this...

I wonder why they decided to do away with the exposed midriff
I know Jim Lee got a bit of flack for it when he redesigned the Huntress' costume, although Birds of Prey writer Gail Simone seemed to roll with it by giving Huntress a line to the effect of "I do two hundred sit-ups a day", and the exposed midriff lets her flaunt it.
I flipped through the latest issue and I like the new artist.
The question is, did the Death of Carol Danvers fall off of anyone else's radar? I didn't even realize she was dead (especially since she still appears to be running around the pages of New Avengers).
Although I'm guessing we haven't seen a body right? It's one of those situations where we're pretty sure she'll be back in her own title soon enough?
How do we feel about her reclaiming her "Ms Marvel" name over Warbird? I always kind of thought that she should have picked up the Captain Marvel title in honour of her friend Mar-Vell, whom her powers derive from. Particularly after House of M, where she did have the Captain Marvel name. And she is/was actually military isn't she? Captain wouldn't be far off it if was her actual rank in the Initiate/SHIELD days.

For a more realistic style of art that sort of thing is a nightmare to draw. Where does it line up, where does the shadow fall, and how does it STAY in that spot? For a more cartoony style you can fudge it a bit. The new costume is essentially body paint; MUCH easier to do realisticly.
From what I understand, Deodato is actually a very versatile artist. I've seen some of his pre-American stuff which was originally published in Brazil and it looks like it would be at home inside a Warren 70s era Scifi or Horror Magazine.
I first ran across his work when he was doing fully painted art for the Beauty and the Beast comic based on the Ron Perlman/Linda Hamilton TV show.
Imagine my surprise when he reinvented himself (like many others) with a variation on the Jim Lee/Image look. It's unfortunate that he took on so many books and used so many ghosts during that period, because it did eventually hurt his reputation as an artist when six books of varying quality would come out a month.
Glad to see he's really come back and focused on creating his own distinct style for Thunderbolts and New Avengers. I liked his work on Hulk as well, although I don't think he's the ideal Spider-man artist. Anyone else see Tommy Lee Jones in his maniacal Norman Osborn?
