What are the best Comic Book TV/Movie Tie Ins?

Whether they are adaptations, continuations, out of continuity, prequels, sequels, which TV or Movie properties have been best translated into comics?

Usually, it works the other way around (comics to movie/TV adaptations) and I hadn't really thought about it in reverse.

I'm sure Star Wars would have to be on the list. If sales and sheer volume of books produced are any indication of translating well from big screen to comics, it's got to be right up there. Seems like I remember reading that Marvel got a huge financial boost from their run of 107 issues.

I think Buffy Season 8 and Angel After the Fall have both been great continuations. Of course it helps that Joss Whedon has been the driving force behind both and that they have been utilizing writing staff from the TV shows. The dialogue and characters ring much truer than the Dark Horse incarnation.

They both have also been taking advantage of the unlimited SFX budget in comics to do things that the TV Shows couldn't.

I agree as I have been following both series(three if you include spike)

I am also really digging "the Man with no name" series. It takes place shortly after the good the bad and the ugly.

Marvel's Star Wars for sure, the old Gold Key Trek comics were fun, and Marvel's Indy series, too.

I've been going through the Gold Key collections and it's kind of interesting to see where the (Filipino?) artists filled in the gaps given that they probably never saw an episode of the TV show or were not given much in the way of source material to base their drawings on other than publicity photos of the actors and the Enterprise.

The Batman Adventures (the comic that adapted BTAS-TNBA) was always top-notch. Through all it's various incarnations (Batman Adventures, Batman and Robin Adventures, etc).
