Every Comic book and Spider-man Fan should watch this!!!!

    Spider-Man - This Weeks Hidden Treasure - History.com

I been very fortunate to have owned some great Ditko Amazing Spider-man Original art from issues 6,7,8,9, 13 & 18 way back. Sadly I don't own any of it now, but please watch this, it is seminal.

Loved the bit about the note from Stan to Steve, and the original "Webby" Spiderman logo. That kind of thing is what is awesome about collecting original art.

What? only one Spider-man fan out there? This clip shows the actual original art pages to Amazing Fantasy 15 by Steve Ditko, Spider-mans first appearance. Granted there is no Diamond or Broken Circle suit Spidey in this clip or Spidey mint on kresge card, but c'mon, it must be worth 2 minutes of your time

      opinions.. please

It starts and stops but I've seen close ups of the art work.....It's beautiful artwork love the Brushwork on it...Ditko was at his best when he did this.

That was AMAZING! Sorry it took me so long to find this thread Clem...I've actually seen this in person myself.

You have to wonder if Lee and Ditko had any idea of what they were unleashing on the world.

Side note: I went to the Library of Congress to see the Guttenberg Bible (first Bible made by a printing press)...I came away more impressed with seeing the original artwork from AF 15.

Clemso, that's an amazing collection you had. It's my dream to own an original FF Kirby page on day. When Kirby was alive they were so cheap, but even the cheap prices were a lot to me back then. Do I every wish I could go back in time! Thanks for posting that!

How is that artwork displayed normally Megospidey?

Wow, Megospidey you went to see them!! Awesome. I think what strikes me about original art, especially when it is as historic as this. Is that you get that sense of awe, that Ditko had no idea what he was unleashing on the world and the impact that Spider-man has made to popular culture. You also get all those editor notes and sometimes scribbles on the back. Its very cool for sure.

At one time, I use to own the page 1 splash & one of the interior chapter splash pages to Fantastic Four 7. This was not long after Jack passed away. They cost me $15K each, so even then, Kirby originals were not cheap. Interiors were about $2.5-3K depending on content. Now they would be 4 X that at least.
