I wasn't so teed off at "Affleck" DD as many comic fans/movie fans were.
I didn't think the DD movie was "awesome" but I tolerated it quite easy,
leaving the theatre satisfied.
Unfortunately, I think "Affleck" DD is tainted, besides, Affleck has said
he's pretty bitter about the whole thing anyway.
Bottomline: there's no good reason to get Affleck to ever play DD again.
That aside.
Seeing SPIDERMAN AND DAREDEVIL as a movie title on the marquee would
be quite the thrill...and I bet a lot of you would agree with me.
Frankly ANY superhero team-up like that would be cool, huh?
The FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER movie had that
kind of going for it.
Personally I would've called the movie FANTASTIC FOUR AND SILVER SURFER
or FANTASTIC FOUR MEET SILVER SURFER...looks cooler on the marquee"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I think the contrast between The Dark Knight and Spider-man 3 proved that if you do the 2 villain approach, it is best if you can tie them together in a more compelling way.
It was a real stretch to get Venom and Sandman to team up finally at the end, at times it was like 2 different movies. A "Jean Valjean" approach to a tragic villain was good with Sandman, and the "Evil Doppelganger" is a tried and true staple... but perhaps best left on their own in separate stories. The Joker storyline in Dark Knight dovetailed into the Two Face development perfectly with strong impact and powerful consequences.
I think it was good for them to take a break from the "Father Figure" villains like Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, and it will definitely be a challenge for them to find a different twist with Doctor Conners given the fact that he too is the reluctant "Father Figure" type as well to Peter. Although this was all part and parcel with the early appeal of Spiderman as a teenager/young man/orphan finding his way into the world and adulthood. Both in rebelling and proving himself to the allegorical "Fathers" that seemed to make his most compelling silver age villains.Comment

Given the quick reboot of The Incredible Hulk, I'm sure Marvel Execs would probably consider a low risk approach of reintroducing Daredevil into a Spiderman film. Just look at the X-Men films... already they have Gambit, Deadpool and X-Men 1st Class ready to roll out of Wolverine. Daredevil also adds more merchandising opportunities to the mix.
I know I would dig The Kingpin as a Spidey Villain, and given Spiderman's constant trouble with the law, it makes a good reason for him to interact with Matt Murdock in the court system and outside of it as Daredevil.
I would just love to see their relationship on film a bit closer to the antagonistic approach of the Ultimate Universe interactions.Last edited by samurainoir; Jun 2, '09, 9:12 AM.Comment

You know what would be really funny and perfect for Bruce Campbell's Mysterio?
When Raimi is finally done with Spiderman movies and decides to hang it up, "Mysterio" should finally show up in costume, and rattle on about how he has been Spiderman and Peter Parker's scourge and arch-nemesis for all these years. Showing up when he least expects it to make Spidey's life a living hell.
He pulls off the fishbowl for the big reveal... and Spiderman is all "Who are You?"
Leave it to Campbell to do his classic floundering posturing at that point... I'm the guy who wouldn't let you in the theatre! I'm the ****** of a maitre d! etc. You ruined my show-biz career at that Wrestling match, and I've been savoring my revenge!
Let Maguire do his "What the?" face, mayhem ensues.
Don't make it the crux of a movie, just give Campbell his little moment to shine (perhaps before the opening credits roll).Comment

I thought the scene where Venom and Sandman team up was written by a child or swiped from the old easy reader comics. Not much motivation there, very weak just "hey you, let's join forces!".

I actually did learn to read with these comics. It was an issue with The Jester. I teared up as Punisher put a bullet in his head in Civil War. 8)Comment

scene talk about economy of words/concepts!), but I was looking at
SPIDEY 3 differently---it seems you're looking at it from that the
movie is only as good as it's weakest link.
The Parker routine at the Jazz Club was weird---not just for it's
"musical number within an action movie" aspect---I could handle that---
but after that Parker slaps Mary Jane hard and it's such a sharp emotional
turn at that point that I felt uncomfortable."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
