A good story with one villain would be nice.

I guess it is too much to hope that they will not mess with the comic history/continuity. Too late for Spidey but I HATE that. Although, the comics update/mess with it themselves regularly so I should shut up.

Batman (Adam West) did a good job with multiple villains, I don't know that I've seen a movie repeat that success.

I hated Spiderman 3. But mostly because they crammed Carnage and Venom into it. I thought Venom came first, then Carnage. That should have been 3 and 4.

Then maybe Lizard/Mysterio for 5 because the article makes good sense.

THEN Lizard/Kraven for 6. Maybe Mysterio gets some love.

Then Mysterio for 7 and they could all go home with $Billion each.

What about Zachary Quinto as Morbius?
He certainly knows how to work pointy ears. He can borrow Nimoy's dentures for his fangs!

    Seriously, that's not bad casting.

Ah! Thanks, totally didn't know about that Easter Egg. That would be cool if they did finally let Bruce do a Villain instead of walk-on's.

So, we know Dylan Baker's been sitting around for a couple of movies now as Dr Conners waiting for his day to get scaly.

Who do we want as Morbius or Kraven?

Vinnie Jones immediately pops into my head as The Crocodile Hunter on Crack, but is that too over the top? What about Ron Perlman?

What about Zachary Quinto as Morbius?

I like Chris' idea the best. If not Lizzie and Kraven, I would rather stick with some of the earlier villians like Rhino, Vulture, the Tinkerer (?), Mysterio. Maybe Dr. Noah Boddy from the cartoon....just kidding on the last one. I would rather see the flying cowboy guy from the animated series first!

Connors becomes the Lizard. He's skulking around New York, with reports of a lizard-man running wild. Kraven is a big time TV hunter with a reality show (Steve Erwin with no morals) and he comes to the Big Apple to bag Lizzie. When Spidey figures out who the Lizard is, he has to save Connors before Kraven kills him.

    Agreed.

Morbius also may simply be a choice because vampires are in vogue right now and they might just be riding "Twilight" coat tails since there will be a lot of teenagers going to see Spidey.
My thoughts exactly. Morbius is a tragic vampire too. He's a normal guy who accidentally became a living vampire, so they can "fix him" at the end if they wish.

It COULD work. I think the 90s Spider-Man animated series tied the Lizard and Morbius together somewhat, by having Morbius further Connor's research (called neuoginics, I think).

So many good villains to choose from. I am in the camp that is partial to Mysterio but maybe Morbius makes more sense if they are going to use Lizard as to have a main villain and secondary villain.

DITTO.. It's always less the movie when they have more than one villain. More action, granted, but less drama, psychological tension.. I usually prefer just one villain.

Morbius..? Sorry, I don't agree much about vampires as movie villains.., I'd prefer the Lizard, Mysterio, Electro, or a few others as well.

A standoff against the Lizard alone would be excellent!

    Hmmmm....

I think Morbius is as good a baddie as any. Just so long as he doesn't sparkle in the sun. Or play baseball.

I love the idea of Morbius. That character could give the series an edginess it lost from part 3. PLUS it gives Raimi a chance to inject some of his great horror skills into the franchise. I think the movie could be a classic!
