At least its not Venom or Carnage. I was hoping we'd get a full villain role for Bruce Campbell's Mysterio cameo last time.

That's as good as any classic twosome.

      Personally?

I'm more partial to RHINO, ELECTRO and VULTURE or even SCORPION
...but I'll take anything they dish out. "Raimi" SPIDER-MAN is hands down my favorite superhero movie franchise of all-time....so I'm easy.

Plus, I have to admit that those two seem easier to build a movie around than any of the others (KRAVEN, MYSTERIO, BEETLE, CHAMELEON, etc.).

My vote is for the Lizard or Mysterio. I wish they'd keep it to one villain at a time.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Lizard and Kraven. Makes perfect sense.

Connors becomes the Lizard. He's skulking around New York, with reports of a lizard-man running wild. Kraven is a big time TV hunter with a reality show (Steve Erwin with no morals) and he comes to the Big Apple to bag Lizzie. When Spidey figures out who the Lizard is, he has to save Connors before Kraven kills him.

Awww yeah!!!! let's all get Chris to Hollywood so he can write the script!!!

Morbius for me is too Dark of a character for spidey...too many little kids see these movies to have a Vampire in it.

I'm thrilled they are doing another Spider-Man as I absolutely loved the first three. I'm happy The Lizard is the next villain but I don't really have any childhood memories about Morbius as I don't remember Spidey fighting him in the comic books as a kid. I know who he is and what he looks like but I am unfamiliar with the character. I probably would have picked a different second villain, like the Chameleon...that kind of character would set up many plot surprises as you would never know who was The Chameleon and who wasn't throughout the whole film.
But as I said, as long as they make another, I'll take any villains they dish out. I just hope this isn't one of those sequels where the original cast isn't fully assembled...I hate it when someone else is cast in a role where we are already used to another actor playing it. I do not agree with the reply on that page that says Venom is one of Spidey's greatest villains as he is far too new a character to make such a grandios claim. Venom in only about 18 years-old whereas the rest of the rogues date back to Spidey's early days for the most part...no Venom is not one of Spidey's greatest villains in my opnion...

Agreed. If they insist on having two villians then Lizard and Kraven make perfect sense.

More importantly, here's to keeping the suits out of this movie. SM3 suffered because of the heavy handed studio involvment.
                  Hey! Check out the pictures.

If I were so against this "new" 18 year old villain VENOM
as some of the "old-timers" are here at the Mego boards,
I'd just thank my stars that SPIDEY 4 isn't considering using him.
                    BUT
to not accept ranking VENOM among Spidey's "geatest villains"
is totally unrealistic...VENOM is undeniably a HUGE part
of the Spidey mythos...more tham just about any other
Spidey villain outside of GOBLIN, OCK and maybe a couple of others
                    (maybe!).

I love the idea of Morbius. That character could give the series an edginess it lost from part 3. PLUS it gives Raimi a chance to inject some of his great horror skills into the franchise. I think the movie could be a classic!

                        Hmmmm....

I think Morbius is as good a baddie as any. Just so long as he doesn't sparkle in the sun. Or play baseball.

DITTO.. It's always less the movie when they have more than one villain. More action, granted, but less drama, psychological tension.. I usually prefer just one villain.

Morbius..? Sorry, I don't agree much about vampires as movie villains.., I'd prefer the Lizard, Mysterio, Electro, or a few others as well.

A standoff against the Lizard alone would be excellent!

So many good villains to choose from. I am in the camp that is partial to Mysterio but maybe Morbius makes more sense if they are going to use Lizard as to have a main villain and secondary villain.

Morbius also may simply be a choice because vampires are in vogue right now and they might just be riding "Twilight" coat tails since there will be a lot of teenagers going to see Spidey.
