                Great story. Good for him for having at least kept a box for his old age (albiet accidentally), although I bet $3,500 was probably also a small fortune in it's own way for "funny books" back in the sixties.

                I understand stories like these always send uninformed people scurrying to the comic stores in tough economic times with the worst crap to try and find their fortune... if not stuff from the nineties glut, then things like coverless Archies. Even if it's "good" stuff, it's generally in such tatters that it's not really of interest to most collectors, particularly now that trades have made "reading copies" a thing of the past.
