If all you wanted for Christmas 2010 was the 'Green Lantern' movie, you're going to find your stocking empty. According Latino Review, the eagerly anticipated superhero flick, which has 'Casino Royale' helmer Martin Campbell attached to direct, has been pushed from a Dec. 17, 2010, release to a June 17, 2011, bow. The film, which was supposed to commence filming this summer, has yet to cast its lead. (May 7)

Yeah, that's a rumor, but it's one of many. Until they sign an actor and start filming, I won't believe anything until then.

Man, DC needs to step it up with their movies. And I mean REAL DC movies of the DCU characters. Watchmen and V for Vendetta really don't count for me as DC movies.

It's good this has been pushed back. I'd rather they take their time than to roll it out quickly.Besides if they are playing it in the summer, it means they have more confidence in the product as a tent pole.

December is the time for dramas with oscar appeal and more established franchises.

Putting it out on the summer means its one of the three or four films Warner's is counting on to pay the bills with. It shows they have confidence in it.

Yeah that's true. The current Star Trek flick was originally due at Christmas of last year. I guess Paramount had confidence in it to make it a summer tentpole.

I hope they take their time and do GL right too, but it seems so odd that Warners hasn't gotten more super heroes on the screen yet. DC being part of Warners is actually hurting this, not helping.

Warner really dropped the ball by not having another DCU movie to follow up Dark Knight this summer.

yeah, I share everyone's frustration with Warners. Their track record is spotty at best with their super hero films. Marvel's doing it the right way.

Them what fail to plan, plan to fail.

I don't think Chris Pine is going to be Hal Jordan.

But hey, there's the First Flight Animated Movie in July...
