    War of Light/Blackest Night Theory

I have this theory that's been fermenting in the back of my mind.

The Guardians will be shown to be the source, or control the source of power for all of the rings.
The Guardians are a prism. When the Guardians were unified, the light coming from the prism was of a single color and intesity. At least that's what the Guardians wanted everyone to think. The fact that Sinestro has been wearing a yellow ring for quite a while shows that there has always been the presence or possibility of other emotional spectrum in the Guardians. Now that the prism is fractured and the Guardians have splinted, all the other emotional/color possibities are showing. Even the possibility of no color (black).
I'm thinking that at the end of Blackest Night/War of Light, the old Guardians (Green) will be gone and we'll end up with new Guardians - White Guardians that will control the entire spectrum. Either that or the old Guardians still standing (I'm betting there will be a high Guardian body count at the end of this) will embrace their emotions and become White Guardians.

Also, this is small but it's been bothering me from the beginning. Is Willpower an emotion? Doesn't force of will power all of these multicolored rings the difference is the "emotional spectrum" that the wearers willpower is filtered through. Wouldn't a better discriptor of the green rings be "Fairness" or "Justice". Not that either of these are emotions, but they're closer then "will".
    Hey! Check out the pictures.

I've always found that odd as well. Particularly when they come right out and call it an "emotion" in the Blackest Night FCBD comic. Perhaps "Will" is simply central to "Life" which encompasses all the emotions, which sets it apart from Black which is "Death" where there are no emotions. Bit of a reach eh?

The Guardian theory is an interesting one given that the Guardian factions are split over a few of the colours... Ganthet and Sayd with the Blue, the original Female Oans (the Zamarons) have had control of Violet, it appears that the Controllers (another Guardian splinter group) had designs on Orange. Did they ever explain what the Qwardians were? That would cover Yellow if it's revealed that the Weaponers were another offshoot of Oans (it would be a retcon given how confusing the Anti Matter universe has become with the return of the Multiverse).

Interesting and very well thought out theories Troy.

As for the "will power thing"...the will to live, and have the strength of character to fight for what's right, and justice...brings out very strong emotions.

        I like the Theory Troy.
Alot of it Makes Sense to me,.. Even more So that Ganthet & Sayd (sp ? ) are already Present in White,.. & Gauntlet was always the leading Voice pretty Much for the Guardians..

As Far as Will Power Goes...

With the Emotions Showing up outta the Spectrum,.. Obviously Will Power is the Foundation Behind the Other Colors. I think it is your Will Power that Defines you, or Ones character ....

I have the Will Power to show Love
I have the Will Power to intice Great Fear
My Lack of Will Power Causes Great Rage
My Lack of Will Power Causes Greed
My Will Power is to Hope

Look at the Green Lantern that was lost to the Power of the Orange Light,.. & was consumed by LarFleeze... He stated he was a Nomad,.. He wanted to do Nothing than What or Where he wanted to Go in his Arguement with Salakk ,.. I believe it was His Greed for what He was into, with No Will Power to do what he was suppost to, until Ordered to, then still Argued the Point, that Ultimately lead to his Path to being consumed By the Orange Light,.. same with the character in the Back up story where LarFleeze Narates. & WE All know what Happened to Lara ..... Her Lack of Will Power, transformed into Rage,.. & then the Red Light found Her...

I just hope they Don't Have Kyle Rayner Find the Pink Light...

Or something along those Lines,.. I am not sure if I am explaining it correctly in my Wording... & Then the Black ,.. Would just be Dead Nothingness the Farthest thing from Emotion. But Yet is it ? When those Dead Hero's start Popping Up,.. Everyone Who Knew them, Cared about them, or Loved them, are gonna Have an Aray of Emotions when they start Flipping Out that these Guys/Girls are Dead & Possibly comming after them.

Compared to all the other color emotions, you've got me wondering that, too. Good points, great theory.

I think it's kind of cool that Green Lantern and Blackest Night have been pretty compelling. More compelling than anything else that's going on in the DCU right now.

Did you see the reference to this?

I'm wondering where the Crime Syndicate's Power Ring falls into all of this...Is he even relevant?

The best thing about past Green Lantern "events" is that it's been pretty self contained. Sinestro War had some one shots but didn't wander too far into the mainline titles.

Hopefully they can keep the lid on this one.

I hadn't even thought about Power Ring. Who knows where he fits in relative to Qward/Anti Matter Universe/Multiverse right now. There probably is an interesting connection that can be explored once the dust of the Multiverse/52/Final Crisis settles down.

They give you a check list,.. if you wish to buy all the books...
For the most part,.. I believe it's only about a 15 to 18 Bookfest,.. with the Blackest Night Books,.. Green Lantern & Corps. There a 3 part Story Arc in 3 other Books too .. I seriously doubt you will have to buy all the spin off's,.. to get the story, they are just added Bonus's, if you are into this..

I think it's pretty good, & somewhat small Compaired to any Nonsense going on at Marvel,.. & even the recent Kryiptonian Nonsense in the Superman Books...

You might want to recheck that.... The checklist in Blackest Night #0 is only PART ONE... Blackest Night is supposed to spill over into Wonder Woman for example and I don't see that on the checklist yet.

I will,.. It didn't look like a Part 1 Checklist.

The Last few Months I have been Buying Azreal, Oracle & Battle for the Cowl,.. So those 3 books not being there will free up some cash,.. Been also buying Cable & Vigilantee for the crossovers, .. Marvel Zombies 4 & the Hawkeye series should be near over or close to over when this goes down..., so for me thats 7 books a month I won't be buying when this goes down...
