Classic superhero comics from the golden age

For those of you who keep hoping AC will finally release some collected volumes in color...well, another company, Fantagraphic books has just done that! I just got my copy of the book called "Supermen" today, and it features several of the earliest Golden Age heros to appear on the scene. While their methods of reproducing the art isnt as sophisticated (or clean) as AC's, the stories are still readable quality, and in 4 color comic color!! Great stuff.

Devils Due is reprinting the Sheena series of comics (from Jumbo Comics) as well. Like Fantagraphic, the reproduction process is a bit crude, but still very enjoyable.

...Hopefully, AC will soon follow suit!

AC's too stubborn to figure it out.

I have a couple of those AC Golden Age trades which are really expensive for what they are. Won't ever buy any more, they both fell apart when I read them.

I admit their way of doing things does seem out of sorts with the rest of the industry, but when you're the last holdout of the original indy publishers and are still in business after all the highs and lows of the comics industry...well, I've learned that they know what they need to do to survive, and they focus on this without hesitation.

^^ The messed up part is that the Fantagraphics book is just a bit more than an issue of Golden Age Men of Mystery and in color. Seems like the AC guys get all bent out of shape when DC or Dynamite does something with these old public domain characters, then they do nothing to counter it. Now Dark Horse is doing Archives of guys like the Green Lama beating AC to the punch.
