I'm enjoying the current run of Uncanny right now a great deal. Matt Fraction's take on the team seems boldly contemporary, something the title has been lacking for quite some time. It's astounding how well he's handling the huge cast of characters. Every issue seems to add another half dozen to the mix while deftly juggling subplots and interpersonal relationships amidst the action.
Loving the new Science Team. I always liked Madison Jeffries from Byrne's run on Alpha Flight, and it's good to see someone dusting him off. Putting all these mad scientists together in one room is bound to create some interesting conflicts and ideological clashes.
Maddy Pryor and the Sisterhood of Evil Mutants also puts a new shine on things as well. Some great twists and turns in their two issues thus far.
Even a traditionally mishandled character like Angel/Archangel is suddenly interesting again.
