    the Current Uncanny X-Men

I'm enjoying the current run of Uncanny right now a great deal. Matt Fraction's take on the team seems boldly contemporary, something the title has been lacking for quite some time. It's astounding how well he's handling the huge cast of characters. Every issue seems to add another half dozen to the mix while deftly juggling subplots and interpersonal relationships amidst the action.

Loving the new Science Team. I always liked Madison Jeffries from Byrne's run on Alpha Flight, and it's good to see someone dusting him off. Putting all these mad scientists together in one room is bound to create some interesting conflicts and ideological clashes.

Maddy Pryor and the Sisterhood of Evil Mutants also puts a new shine on things as well. Some great twists and turns in their two issues thus far.

Even a traditionally mishandled character like Angel/Archangel is suddenly interesting again.

I did recently read the Messiah Complex trade and was curious about the follow up books.

So is the baby Cable is looking after the reincarnation of Jean Grey (or Phoenix) as has been hinted at?

I liked the idea of the "dueling futures" between Cable and Bishop. Have they managed to make Bishop a more interesting and driven character with his new mission statement? Or has it just been kind of "Shoot 'Em Up" between him and Cable?

The "Lone Wolf and Cub" vibe on Cable does look like it has potential. Cable was introduced as a teacher in the pages of The New Mutants after all.

X-Force is a Driven Book with Wolverine being the Team Leader, Ofcourse Cyclops Calling the Shots,.. James Proudstar ( Warpath) , ArcAngel, X-23, Domino, & a Couple of Newbies... They Basically take the War "Behind" the Scene's to all the Factions out there Who Want to destroy & Eliminate the Mutant Race ...

Since the Messiah Complex,... When Bishop Went Rogue ,.. Because I guess of a Vision, or an Alternate Time Reality,.. & Shot the Professor in the Head, then Tried to Kill The Baby ( Who's Name is Hope BTW) Cyclops Gave Hope to Cable, & Told him to Protect Her,.. So Cable's been Time Jumping trying to get Away from Bishop... Hope is the 1st Mutant child Born on Earth,.. Since the Scarlet Witch went Psycho ***** & Off-ed 90 percent of the Mutants on Earth,.. leading them to be an Endangered Race... & the Hunted.

So Now with the Messiah War ,.. as it is Called,.. Bishop Finally Caught up with Cable & Hope ( It has not been determined to my Knowledge that this is infact Jean re-incarnated) ,.. & Bishop is pretty Hell bent on Killing this Kid. He truely believed in his Mind that she needs to be removed to protect Humanity as well as the Mutant Race inGeneral. Bishop's character IS pretty Complex,.. Or has been written as so in the last few issues imo. You really get inside his Head a Bit,..

So Bishop Caught Up with Cable in the yr about 2978 or Something. It is a world Controled by the Also ( Led to believe dead ...) Stryfe . Bishop Has teamed up with Stryfe to Track Cable Down & Kill him,.. HOWEVER Bishop has not disclosed his total Beliefs , & not any with Stryfe behind the Girl Child Hope.

But,.. Cable is not Alone... Cyclops & Beast Rigged up some TimeTravel Devices,.. & Placed them on the 6 X-Force Members,.. to Help Cable, .. Who Doesn't want their Help,.. & all they Want his to bring Hope Back,.. Then Deadpool Shows up,.... & Ultimately Chapter 3 Ended with Apocolips Showing up as well ....

I think the story is Fantastic. Very Sci-Fi Adventure with the X- Characters.. I love it. Best thing from Marvel right now imo..., But I only Buy this , Dark Avengers & Marvel Zombies. Marvel can have the Rest.

With so many time-jumping characters in the mix, I always wondered why the writers didn't choose to make this more of an issue and source of conflict. Particularly since they all seem to have mission statements to prevent their respective futures from happening.

If I'm recalling correctly, in Bishop's future, "Humanity" kind of got the upper hand and the Mutants grew up in work camps... it's not quite the "Days of Future Past", or is it? I'm pretty sure both Rachel Summers' DoFP future and Bishop's involve that "M" tattoo. Bishop's "future" seemed a bit more civil than Rachel Summer's "future" in that instead of hounds and Sentinels, the Mutants were eventually allowed to police themselves, which is what Bishop is, a Mutant Police Officer. Or is Bishop's the same as Rachel's, and simply further down the time-line after Hounds and Sentinels have been replaced by Mutant Police Officers?

In Cable's future, Apocalypse has "won", and I'm assuming it puts the Mutants in a position of power.

If you think about it, makes absolute sense that both these guys would be in opposition with each other right? If Cable prevents his own future from happening, it might very likely set up Bishop's, and vice versa. Am I reading this correctly?

I really don't know a Ton About Bishops Future....
Back in the 90's,.. I read all the Books with his Introduction into the X-UNIVERSE ,.. & When he Teamed up & Joined the Jim Lee / X-men book .., & then had the problem With Gambit... In the X Exicutioner's Song,.. Where Bishop Teamed up with Wolverine to go after Cable,.. & they had the ShowDown... I thought those were the High Points of the Character,.. & His story Direction Kinda Went Lame in the Last 10 or So yrs since all that Nonsense..., I really Do like the New Direction of Bishop,.. I am glued to this like it's some sorta Soap.

It does make sense that Bishop & Cable are on Opposite Sides,.. Like you say..., They are both from different Possible time Future Realities,.. Where Whatever Mess was Different.

I didn't know the Tid Bit about where Marvel Girl (Racheal Summers) Came from... I never read those Books,... When I read the couple of Books with her in it,.. She was already somewhat of an Established Character Running Around with Havok , a Handful of the X-men & the Star Jammers, Trying to Stop the 3rd Summer's Brother ,.. that Vucan Nut. All I really Know about Racheal is she Obviously has the Power of the Pheniox,.. However Unlike Jean, she Can control it.

Rachel ended up being the last survivor of DOFP, right? Those were the days with Nimrod sent back to hunt her down, good thing the Terminator creators didn't read those issues.
