    Flash has a Pet Parrot?

So my 4 yr old picked up the new issue of DC Superfriends when we were at the comic shop last weekend. The story is about the super pets and Flash is bummed throughout the story because he doesn't have a pet. In the end her gets a Parrot, but they never tell you what his name is. He's dressed in the classic Jay Garrick costume and has the initials TW on his shirt instead of the lightning blot.

Anyone have any clue what his name is? My 4 year old is DYING to know and I thought I'd ask around before I just made somehting up. I don't remember Flash ever having a parrot, but then again Wonder Woman's super kangaroo in this issue is new to me too.

    Thanks

TW might stand for Terrific Whatzit. The Terrific Whatzit was a funny animal version of the Jay Garrick Flash that appeared in the 40s, but he was a turtle. In modern continuity I think he was related to Fastbak of the Zoo Crew.

And yeah the kangaroo is a Silver Age reference I think when they (the Amazons) used to ride them on Paradise Island

I always thought it was unfair that Superman hogged the Legion of Super-Pets with all his super animals anyway.

Green Lantern had that little alien starfish thingy for awhile, didn't he?

When we were on vacation in Walt Disney World, we were standing in the crowd watching the afternoon parade. All at once there was this ungodly horrible smell!

Next to us a family of Japanese tourists were pulling dried octopus tentacles out of a bag and chewing them like beef jerky. Wonderful scent, especially in 90+ degree weather!

We quickly found another spot to view the parade from!

Wow I've never heard of the Terrific Whatzit, but it sounds as good as anything. Thanks for the help guys.

Now that I look at it, I bet the picture in the comic is a turtle and not a parrot. It's sort of hard to tell with the costume on, but my wife did tell him it was a parrot and he asked me about it then. I think we just screwed it up. I think you scored with the Terrific Whatzit

Yeah I think they were called Kangas. Starfire rode one once in the old Titans series.

GL's got G'nort, too. I think it was in Mike Allred's Solo issue where Bat-Mite got lumped in with the Super-Pets and complained about not being a pet, funny stuff.
