DC Black Lanterns vs. Marvel Zombies

OK, so I haven't read either story line so please forgive me but I thought this was an interesting question: Who wins if they ever met?

Are the Black Lanterns DC's answer to Marvel's Zombies, from the walking dead perspective? I have no idea what the Black Lanterns powers are.

Nothing's been revealed about what powers the Black Lanterns have so far as I know.
Earth-2 Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman have been pretty much confirmed so far as being BLs from DC promos, and rumors have it Ronnie Raymond (original Firestorm), possibly Conner Kent-Superboy, and I've even heard the Jim Corrigan Spectre maybe part of it. Also a few GL cast members such as original Tattooed Man, Katma Tui, and Abin Sur. Again, these are online rumors I've read so who knows yet.

I don't think these BLs will be along the lines of the bloodthirsty Marvel Zombies (i.e. eating the living's brains!), but what their reason for being is yet I dunno. The 1st part will be included as a Free Comic Book Day promo on May 2nd, the series itself starts in July.

Yeah,.. I think the DC BlackLanterns are gonna have rings that Black Hand will pretty much be able to control.. Or atleast that's what I speculate. Other than Knowing some of the Perhaps Aledgid Black Lanterns,.. & the Fact that Black Hand is Said to lead them,.. with Perhaps Scar over seeing the Termoil ( She's the Guardian who was Burnt by the recent battle with the AntiMonitor) ... Nothing Else is really Known.. I do think FireStorm has something to do with the story,.. there is a pic of him I saw somewhere's ,.. & in the Pic,.. he says " It's good to be back" ,.. But he's not Zombie Lantern Fried either.

The Marvel Zombies,.. Are Blood Thursty Super Hero's ...., but when they are around each other , with no " Fresh Meat" in the Area,.. it seems as if they can actually communicate with each other.

BTW... The Marvel Zombies are from a Different Demention,.. I suppose similar to the Earths in the DCU,.. So those are not your Hero's you Know... The BlackLanterns, I believe are pretty much in this Earth's Reality,.. Continuty.

Thanks for the info. So are the Black Lanterns people who have died or people who have been "turned" (or whatever they are calling it) or both?

I may have to look into this. If I do where should I start?

The Black Lanterns are people who have died in the in-continuity DC Universe.
They seem to be actually risen dead, maybe more like actual voodoo zombies instead of the living dead type. By that I mean that originally zombies were dead people who were controlled by a master puppetlike to do the bidding of the person in control. They had no will of their own and were mindless. Night of the Living Dead added the flesh-eating part. The BLs seem to be of the mindless puppet slave type, at least from what I've seen so far.

Black Lanterns should be more powerful than the Marvel Zombies based on the fact that they have their own individual powers of course but they also have Black Lantern power rings.

I think the Black Lanterns are those who were "dead"...as the tag line originally used to promote this series was "The Dead Will Rise". I don't think they'll be like Marvel Zombies were anyone can be infected.

Something that I'm not seeing get picked up on a lot....yes, Black Hand has something to do with the Black Lanterns and so does Scar, the apparently renegade Guardian of the Universe. But I think they both serve a higher power that's only been hinted at...
he's an old Green Lantern foe that's basically been forgotten since the "Tales of the Green Lantern Corps" mini-series back in the early 80s ( I wanna say '81 off the top of my head...)

            ....and his name is Nekron

Keep in mind that after they ate Galactus, The Marvel Zombies gained a bit of the Power Cosmic. Of course they all looked absolutely ridiculous wearing Galactus armour.

Conner Kent was hinted at at the end of Adventure Comics 0, he didn't look to black lantern-ed. Its something to do with Brainiac and Luthor I think.

Maybe this should help differeniate between the Black Lanterns and the Marvel Zombies....from Ethan Van Sciver:

And we're going to do it right. It's not Marvel Zombies with the whole tacky thing they do, where you see Peter Parker like, eating Aunt May. You just want to shower and cry and go talk to your minister. We're not going to do that. This is all organic and all makes sense with the story. It's all really happening in real DCU life, not in some alternate reality.
So "no eating" boys and girls!
